Two Months have passed since we had toured the kingdom. My legs were sore beyond compare and I couldn't even see the castle in the distance. I was tempted to ask if we were there yet, even though we clearly were not.
I huffed softly, leaning into Gabriels chest. My stomach was large now. Bigger than it should be at only five months. I couldn't ride alone anymore, so my husband rode behind me.
"You feeling alright?" He asked, gently running his fingers through my golden hair. I nodded.
"Just sore from riding a horse. I am glad we are almost home," I sighed softly, closing my eyes. I could feel the sun on my face as if filtered through the leaves.
"Mm," Gabriel hummed in agreement, hugging me lightly with one arm. His other hand was busy steering the horse.
A sudden pain in my stomach made me flinch, my nose scrunching in discomfort. I gently set a hand on my stomach, jumping slightly when I felt a little foot kick my hand. Maybe it was a punch, but it felt too big for that.
"What's wrong?" My husband asked. I gently grabbed his hand, moving it to the spot I had felt the kick, tilting my head to look at him. His eyes lit up, a smile blooming on his face. I knew he had felt it.
"The baby!" I whispered. "They're kicking!" I cooed, my amazement taking over the pain.
"Yeah..." he said lovingly. He leaned down, gently kissing my lips. Autumn finally made her appearance, squirming out of my breast pocket, and leaping onto my stomach. I barely felt her land.
"Gabriel, move your big hand, I wanna feel!" She squealed in excitement. Gabriel rolled his eyes, but complied reluctantly. Autumn placed her tiny hands on my stomach.
"You feel it?" I asked. She gasped, nodding quickly.
"I do!" She smiled. Suddenly, her hands began to glow, her face forming into one of concentration. I was curious, but I wasn't worried.
"What are you doing?" I asked softly. She stood up, the yellow glow of her hand absent.
"I was checking on the little ones!" She cooed. I stilled.
"Two?" Gabriel murmured, his lips close to my ear. I shivered as the feeling.
"Yes," Autumn replied. "One of them is really powerful, I can feel it. The other isn't as strong, but still has the power of a high fae." She explained.
"Do you know anything else?" Gabriel inquired. "Are they healthy? Why haven't you done this before?" He asked.
"I can only do it when they are active, plus their power wouldn't have shown when they were still itty bitty," she explained. "I do know more," she added. "They are in good health. Would you like to know their genders?"
Gabriel stilled, peering down at me for my opinion. I shook my head, a smile on my lips
"Let's wait until they are born. We already have a neutral color pallet planned for the room." I suggested. The way he smiled, I knew he was happy with my words.
Four months later and these freaking children are not born yet. I lay on my bed, it was all I could do nowadays. Be it Gabriel, Jacob, Autumn, Mary, or my laziness, one of them always prevents me from getting up.
I felt fat, and not just because of the babies. I had been eating so much without moving around, my muscles were waning, and it was sad. After the twins were born, I would be starting a workout routine whether anyone, including my laziness, liked it or not.
I groaned as pain clenched in my stomach. My water had yet to be broken, and the pain remained as kicks. I wished they were contractions only to get these kids out of me!
I rolled to my feet, unsurprised by my swollen ankles and knees. Gabriel was dealing with our guests. Ethari and his wife had visited because of the soon to come birth. Kane was already here, but most likely napping in her room.
I shoved on my slippers, pulling open the door and peering into the hallway. No one was in sight. With a smirk I scurried very ungracefully into the hall. I say scurry, but it was more of waddle.
"Yuki!" Autumn shouted from somewhere above me. I frowned. My fun was already put to a stop. I looked upwards, spotting her tiny figure perched in the marble pillar like decorations.
"Autumn." I replied calmly, pausing in the hall. It wasn't like I could run with the large belly I had. She flew down, a little trail of pixie dust behind her. She figured out how to make it visible and used it all the time. Dork.
"Why are you walking about?" She asked, landing on my shoulder.
"Hoping to break my water some how," I told her. She smirked, patting my cheek.
"You will just have to wait. But maybe a walk would be good for you. Let's go to the gardens!" She suggested. I smiled, nodding in agreement.
"Yes."
We finally reached the gardens. Technically they were in doors, but there was no roof above the asortment of different plants and bushes. I paused by the tiger lillies, smiling softly as I ran my fingers over the petals. Suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder, and it wasn't Gabriel's.
I jumped, quickly turning to face the person. It was just Jacob. I sighed softly in relief, shaking my head. Then I felt the oddest feeling followed by wetness in my lower regions. Did my water just break?
"Yuki? Are you alright?" Jacob asked, offering an arm, which I gladly took, pain swimming in my stomach now.
"I think..." I gasped softly with the new pain. "My water just broke."
