Gabriel pov:
She would have changed by then. I knew that she would have. Worry and curiosity made me glance around the forest, wishing the trees would fly by faster. My hourse, Charly, was already at a gallop, and I could not push her feet faster. A glance over my shoulder told me that damion's horse was slowing. I sighed, pulling my horse back to a trot.
"I know you are nervous king gabriel," Damion began. He only called me king when I was irritated. I sighed, shaking my head as his horse trotted next to mine. "But you need to calm down. We will be at the castle within the hour."
"An hour is far too long," I muttered, glaring at my horses mane. He chuckled from beside me, my eyes rolling.
"We will be there in no time, sir. First, you need to stop being impatient otherwise it will seem like forever," he pointed out. My brown eyes flickered another glare in his direction.
"I know, for some reason I am really impatient right now." My voice trailed away, my knuckles white from the grip I had on the reins.
"Can you explain further?" Damion asked, his head tilting in careful consideration. I did not face or look at him as I spoke.
"My arms itch to wrap around her, hugging her close, knowing she is safe. " I whispered quietly. Silence floated around us, the clomp of hooves the only thing heard.
"Do you think she is your mate?" He asked, breaking the stiff silence. I ran a nervous hand through my hair, flashing a desperate look at him.
"I dont know. I-i don't know. If she is not, why do I feel this way?" I asked. His eyes flashed in surprise at my show of emotion. He shook his head, not meeting my eyes.
"I don't know either." He said. A sigh slipped from my lips. "What else do you feel?" He asked. I rose a bro at him.
"You want to know everything?" I asked. He thought about it.
"Even if it would gross me out," he winked. I rolled my eyes again, once again staring at my horse's mane.
"I want my lips on her. I want our legs intertwined. I want her fingers in my hair. But I also want to hold her, breath in her scent. I want to know that she is safe next to me," my voice trailed off.
"I think you are mates," Damion said. I stared at him for a moment.
"Thank you," was my response. Now, I wanted to get to the castle even faster to confirm his suspicions
What felt like months, was only an hour. When the castle came into view I wanted to leap off my horse and sprint inside. I did not, my leg muscles tight and ready to run when we reached the stables.
"Calm down," Damion said. I took a deep breath, shaking out my legs to calm the muscles. We finally entered the stables, the horse below me giving a sigh of relief as I slid of him.
He licked my cheek in goodbye, nudging me out of his stall. Damion stood beside me, a hand on my shoulder. He was taller than me, but only by an inch.
"You ready?" He asked. I was more than ready, but I forced my self to walk into the castle. The maids and servants sent smiles to me.
"Welcome home king Gabriel."
"Welcome back, sir."
"Good to see your face again, majesty."
"Thank you for returning,"
"We missed you."
I gave a thank you to each of them as i walked down the halls. Jacob was suddenly in front of me, bowing his head. One fist was over his heart, the other behind his back.
"Report," I commanded. He nodded, standing up fully.
"Sir, Yuki has transformed. She is still in her beast form last I checked and in her room. She wanted to stay like that," he explained. He started walking, and I followed him.
"Can she not put her beast form away?" Damion asked from beside me. Jacob shook his head.
"She was getting rid of the soreness," he said. He stopped at her door, stepping back.
The door swung open, a beautiful Fae standing in front of me. Electricity shot through me as my brown eyes met her Hetachromian ones. One amber, one blue.
She was running. Not away, no. She ran straight into my arms, her head on my chest as she held me. When I wrapped my arms around her, Jacob and Damion were gone.
She looked up at me, a smile on her face.
"You gonna bend down and kiss me?" She asked, her lips in a pout. I chuckled, picking her up and leading her into the room, shutting the door behind me.
