Yuki pov:

Today is the last day for any guests to show, 5 days before the ball. I was not dressed as a maid this time, but I was still sitting on the marble steps, ready to greet anyone who showed.

I yawned, my eyes scanning the field of grass that stretched until it hit the forest. Nothing yet. I sighed softly, leaning back onto the clean marble and letting my eyes flutter closed.

A sharp whistle peirced my eyes, my hands flying up to the sides of my head. My eyes searched the grass, a lady was riding on a horse, her hand in her mouth as she wolf whistle. I stood up, glaring at the rude awakening.

My ears started to ring as she came closer, my head pounding with an incoming headache.

"CAN YOU PLEASE STOP!" I shouted, my hands cupped around my lips. The whistling finally stopped, a sigh slipping from my mouth. I glared as I approached the woman, my arms folded across my chest.

"Hello!" The woman waved happily. She stopped her horse, sliding down from it with a huge smile. "Who are you?" She asked. Bad vibes seemed to echo from her, her smile fake.

My eyes narrowed. Who was this? Should I lie to her?

"I am a member of King Gabriel's castle."

"The sun castle, The stag castle?"

"Yes." The stag castle. That made sense, Gabriel's beast was a stag and he is the king.

"What is your name?" She asked, sliding down from her horse and walking closer to me. I felt my knees bend, my arms held protectively in front of me. She took a step closer, but my feet were firmly planted in the ground, eyes glaring.

"I will answer your question, only if you answer the same question first." She narrowed her eyes at my words but sighed as she nodded.

"Fine. My name is Marcy, now tell me yours." The queen of dawn.

"I am Yuki," I responded, she was not phased.

"Yuki, the mate to Gabriel. My beast is a rabbit, what is yours?"

"An owl." She rose her brows this time, taking a small step back.

"So, you can fly? Only the most powerful fae are given a bird beast. The power of flight is a gift, a gift only for the gifted and the chosen." I was not phased by her words. Technically, I was a chosen one, chosen by mother nature to survive. "Looks like I will have to kill you then."

"WHAT!?" I shouted. her face was straight and flat, no emotion seeping through. She held up her hands, green balls of energy growing on her palms. Draw the power from emotion. Maybe a distraction will make her off-guard. "Before I die, tell me why you want me dead." I let my rage bubble up, choosing it as my emotion. If she killed me, she killed y unborn child, and that was not okay. I have already lost so many people in my family, I will not be losing my baby.

"well, you are not strong yet, but you will be, I have to take you out before you reach past my levels of strength." She explained. so she wanted to be the strongest.

"What about those who are already stronger than you?" I asked. she smirked.

"They chose to ignore the weaklings under them. I get strong after I kill someone, and once I am stronger than all, I will rule over mother nature's planet, Talamh." I blinked, so she wanted to rule the world.

"And what if I defeat you right here, right now?" I asked. She rose her brows.

"IF you managed to defeat me, which I doubt you will, then I will have a new enemy. You were human not too long ago?" She asked.

"Yes. I was." I hoped she underestimated me.

"Then, if you die, how will your parents feel, how will your siblings feel- OH WAIT," She snickered. "we killed them all." I felt my fury gnawing at the back of the mind, forcing me to take action. No matter how reckless that action would be, it just wanted me to kill her, beat her down for saying that. I pulled at that emotion, focussing it to my hands as I stared at Marcy.

Fire floated in an uncontrolled fury just above my palms, fire that swirled with my rage and hatred. I guess I have not changed from when I first met Damion. I hated some fae, with a passion. Wait, I have changed. I have power now, and I can get the revenge that my family deserves.

The fire swam across my skin and my clothes, the materials smoking slightly. The grass around my feet charred, burning to a wilting grey color into the ground. I took a threatening step towards Marcy, who stepped back, fear flashing in her eyes.

Warm arms suddenly wrapped around my waist, sparks sending goosebumps up my arms.

"Shh. calm down." My fire slid back inside my body, my muscles relaxing as his lips touched my ear. Gabriel. Should I be mad that he stopped me? Should I be glad? Did I really want to kill Marcy? "Marcy, provoking other people can get you killed, have you not learned that yet?" Gabriel asked, glaring at Marcy. The Queen Of Dawn looked at the ground, a frown on her face.

"I did not think she would know how to control her powers!" She explained.

"She can still punch and kick you know."

"I was testing her. You can't have a weak mate after all." Gabriel sighed loudly, but I felt his hands tighten on my hips as he stopped himself from doing anything rash to Marcy.

"well, now you know that my mate is anything but weak," and with that, Gabriel scooped me up in his arms and carried me into the castle, Marzy standing there with a frown on her face.

A/N:

Do think I made her too strong for her first time using magic?
