We lay beside each other, cuddling in each other's arms. He kissed my forehead, a smile lighting up my face.
"I love you," i whispered. My breath danced across his bare chest, my fingers tracing the defined muscle. He sighed, grabbing my fingers and kissing them.
"And I love you," he rolled over, flawlessy standing to his feet. "When would you like to leave, my queen?" He asked, walking to the bookshelf and running his fingers along the worn spines.
"In one or two months. I want to know everyone in the castle before I leave," I explained, sliding onto the marble platform under the bed and fixing the messy sheets. I padded to the closet, opening the door.
No fog bothered to blanket me as clothes appeared over my body. I watched gabriel pull up his pants, dissapointed when he slipped his tunic over his head. That lovely six pack was no longer in my view.
"Beautiful dress you have there," he waved a hand at the black dress that floated down my body and brushed my ankles. I curtsied for him.
"Why thank you," we giggled as we walked towards each other. He wrapped his arms around me, his manly scent surrounding me. I sighed as i hugged him back, glad to be in his embrace.
He grabbed my hand, leading me out of the room. The sun poured into the halls, seeming a lot bright than normal. It was almost spring.
"Is the snow melting?" I asked as we walked. His brown eyes met mine, the smile that I love on his face as he nodded.
"Yes. The warmth will bring brightness to the castle and to the kingdom."
"Hello king. Hello queen," a servant said, bowing deeply. He had blond hair that was curled and all a mess on his head. I pulled gabriel to a stop, walking towards the servant.
"Hello, and what is your name?" I asked. He gave a bright smile, his blue eyes twinkling.
"Christopher, or chris if you please, lady yuki," he once again dipped his head as he carried on in his duties. Gabriel grabbed my hand a little tighter as we walked.
When we reached the dining hall, I had met many workers here. They were all delighted that I had spoken to them. I had made their day, which in turn made my day.
Gabriel and I sat together at the table, breakfast placed by... mary... in front of us. Another servant... jason, poured us delightful faery whine. It tasted better as a fae, all of our senses and reflexes were higher than a humans. It made us picky about food, but we could really enjoy something.
A brown haired servant rushed up to gabriel, her lips moving near his ear, her whisper urgent. I could not here her words though. She pulled away, a sigh slipping from my mate.
"Yes, yes. We will host it, tell king james to bring his humans. Kane can stay here instead of going to south america, it will be easier for her." He waved the servant away after he spoke, turning to me with a small sigh.
"Whats happening?" I tilted my headnin question, taking a small sip of my sweet wine.
"King James wants to meet you in person, he suggested we have a ball at my castle and invite anyone who wants to come," he ran a nervous hand through his hair.
"Why are you nervous?" I asked. He sighed, hugging my face to his chest. His features were scrunched in worry.
"Well, he wants the ball to take place in 14 days, on the new moon. I am worried about what people will come, I am a well known king, and one of the most powerful. The most powerful is Ethari, who will most likely attend to see me again."
"Are you on good terms?"
"Yes. That would be the reason for his attendance. We are closely allied, my unbiological sister, sonia, is his mate. He will not take to you right away, he is always strict at first."
"Unbiological sister?"
"Oh, uh, my mom's brother's wife's daughter. So I guess she is my cousin," he laughed a little.
"I had two siblings," I said. His laughter stopped, his body tensed. He gently wrapped his arms around me.
"What were they like?"
"Gage, my older brother, was gay. He was hilarious and always supported me in everything, including my bad times. My little brother, toby, was always so cute, running around in his diaper," my voice trailed away with a sad sigh. They were gone, but they strengthened me.
"Thats wonderful. I bet they were good people."
"And my mother, she always encouraged me to fight and be strong, stand up for myself. She did not see me as the stay at home mom type."
"Is that why you are so feisty?"
"Yep" he chuckled, kissing my lips for a moment before downing his faery wine. I had only had a sip, and a gut feeling told me I should not have anymore.
"Breakfast was delicious," I commented. Another chuckle vibrated from his body. He kiss my forehead.
"I am glad you like it, my queen."
