Chapter 6

Cameron's POV~

The door slid open so I assumed it was Mel. I couldn't tell because the curtain was covering the door. "Hey Mela- Katie?" "Oh. So you seem to remember me?" "Well you did ruin my high school experience so.. And how'd you find me?" "Ran into your skank downstairs. Your son is adorable though. Going after his dad of course." "Don't call her that. I don't want you in here so just leave." "Why babe? You love me. Remember when we kissed?" "No. Because all I remember is you kissing me Katie. Just get out. I don't wanna call security on you again. And stay away from my family." "No promises. See you later Cameron." She said with an evil smirk on her face. She walked out and Melanie walked in. "So? What'd she say?" I explained while I ate the fruit. "So now she's threatening us? Wow. She really hasn't changed. Not a bit." I nodded. "I'm sorry Mel. Just know I'll always be here to protect you. I won't let anything happen to you or Derek or the baby. I promise." She gave me a kiss and Derek laid down in the bed beside mine. "Goodnight Daddy." "Goodnight Derek. Love you buddy." I gave him a kiss on his forehead and I went to sleep. I woke up and saw Melanie crying. "What's wrong Babe?" "I'm just so scared Cam. What if she hurts us. The baby. Derek. Cam I'm just not sure about us going back. We should just move." I nodded. "You're right. But as long as I'm with you I will never let anything happen to you guys. If I did I would never be able to forgive myself. Don't be scared. I'll be here." She got up and have me a hug. I got my release papers to go so I got up changed and left. She drove us home as I sat in the back with Derek. She was on the phone with Lox explaining everything. So I just played with Derek and his toy cars on the way there. "Okay. Thanks So much Lox. I appreciate it. Okay. Bye." She hung up. "So I told her About Katie and stuff and she said there's actually a house for sale. It's in a very private part of Chino Hills. Near your mom so we could go check it out tomorrow." "Ok. Sounds great." We arrived and I helped Derek down. We went upstairs and we all went to sleep. I was a little uncomfortable sleeping with all the pain but I took medication so I was fine afterwards. I woke up around 10:00 and took a shower so we could go see the house. I was excited to move into a new place. And near my mom was great too. I got out the shower and saw Mel on her phone. "Morning Mel. What're you doing?" She looked nervous. "Um. Nothing just looking on twitter and stuff." "Melanie." I said sternly so she would tell me. "Carter. He's coming back to LA."

FLASHBACK

"What's wrong Lox?" "Carter left me with Alex." "Where'd he go?!" "I don't know. Jacob said he's willing to be there for me. Carter and I are over." I gave her a hug. We became friends because she changed. I went to look for Carter so I could talk to him. I just wanted to help Mahogany. I found him sitting on the bench making out with another girl. "What the hell's wrong with you?! You leave your family for another woman?!" "Its none of your business Melanie!!" As he said that he slapped me. I never did anything to him but try to help. "Mel. I'm so sorry. I didn't me-" "it's fine whatever. I hope your happy. Alex has a male figure for him at least." "Yeah? Who?" "Jacob. Jacob's there for Alex and Lox and has been when you weren't Carter. Go live your life with someone else." He got close and held my hand. "What if that someone else was you?" I couldn't believe it. I just ran to my car and drove off. We never saw him in LA again.
