Chapter 22

Cameron's POV~

"Dad. Where's mom going?" "I don't know. Don't worry about it D." I got up and picked up Emma. I laid her in my arms as Derek made his self comfortable on the wide bed. We watched 'Spongebob Squarepants' and waited for Melanie to come back. She explained to me what happened and she took Emma for a walk around the hospital. I got a text from an unknown number.

Unknown- Hey Cameron. Wanna hang out?

C- Who is this?

Unknown- Natalie

Melanie walked in. I tried hiding my phone. "What is it?" "Nothing Mel." "Okay then." She sat down with Emma. "I'm going to be able to get out tonight." She just nodded and looked down at her phone. "Mel?" "What." "Why are you mad?" "Because you're hiding something. D wanna go down to the cafeteria?" He nodded and held her hand. They walked down the hall.

C- I don't know a Natalie. Sorry.

I heard someone knock. "Come in!" "Hey Cam. It's me. Natalie. Remember?" As she said that she kissed me. I heard the door open. "Get off of me! And get out!" She ran passed Melanie. I saw the tears in her eyes. "Melanie. Please just understand she kissed me." "So that's who was texting you? Natalie?" I nodded. "Why couldn't you tell me? If you had nothing for her you should've just told me." "I'm sorry. I'll tell you next time. Where are the kids?" "With Nash down at the cafeteria. I came to ask if you wanted anything." "Yeah. I'll just go down." "No. Stay here. What do you want?" "Pudding." "Haha ok. We'll be back." She left. I went on my phone.

Carter-Heard you're in the hospital😉😏

C-Yeah I am. Hope your happy. Even when I did nothing wrong

Carter-Nothing wrong? You basically helped Jacob tell me I wasn't the father to his son.

C-You didn't even care about Alex if he even was yours.

Carter-I did care. So much. You don't understand Cameron because you have the perfect life

C-You seriously think that? I had my daughter in the hospital! And now I'm stuck here because of you!!

I locked my phone and just ignored it. "Hey Babe." "Hey Mel. Hey D." "Cameron how you doing?" Nash said as he walked in with Emma in his arms. "Better. Still a bit dizzy but I'm getting better." "Good. And you're leaving tonight right?" "Yeah. Why?" "Because Amber wanted to hang out with the kids. I'd be there too." "Okay if that's fine with Mel?" She nodded as she ate her salad. I changed into sweats and we walked out the hospital. "We'll see you tomorrow Derek. Have a goodnight and behave okay?" "Ok Dad. Bye mom. Love You." We drove home and watched Netflix for a while. "I'm bored Cam." "So am I. Do you wanna go jump in the pool?" "At midnight? Yeah sure." She changed and so did I. "1,2,3!" We jumped in as he held hands. "I Love You Cam. I'm glad you're okay." "I Love You Too Mel." I gave her a kiss on the cheek. We swam and played around with each other until it started getting cold. We went upstairs and took showers. I got out and saw her get up from the bed. She started limping as she went to go downstairs. I ran up behind her and held her by the waist. "Are you okay?" "Yeah. I just slipped in the pool and rolled my foot getting out. I'm okay." "Are you sure? Just lay down while I get you an ice pack." "Thanks." I picked her up and laid her down. I went downstairs and got the ice pack, ice cream, whipped cream, and 2 spoons. "What took you so long- Oh." She said with a smile appearing on her face. "Netflix?" "Netflix." I laid down next to her and put the ice pack on her foot. We ate ice cream with whipped cream as we watched Netflix. After eating we ended in each other's arms and fell asleep. I woke up and made breakfast. I heard her walk down. I turned around and saw her limping. "Mel. Careful." I said as I helped her down the stairs. "Cam I'm fine." "Really? Then try to stand up straight. On both feet." She tried and couldn't. "Thought so." She let out a slight giggle. I helped her sit down at the counter as I finished making breakfast.
