Cameron's POV~

"I'm gonna go get some air." I walked out the hospital and went to the closest park. It was 6:00 so the sun was going down so the sky was orange. It looked pretty and I started to take my mind off of everything. After a while I decided to head back to the hospital. I walked near the door and saw everyone gone except for Sierra. Sierra and Mel were talking so I stood outside the door. "Im just worried about him. He's so upset and I can tell. He just thinks that he has to tuck his feelings away for Derek and I. But he doesn't. I love him the way he is and he has feelings. I understand that he's upset, and that's totally fine he just needs to let those tears out when they need to be out." I walked in and they both turn towards me. "Hi. Sorry for running off earlier." "I'll leave you both alone. I gotta go home anyways. I'll see you 2 tomorrow. Love you guys." Sierra left Melanie and I alone. "Is that how you feel? Worried?" "You heard didn't you?" She said smiling. I nodded and she left out a little giggle. "Well yeah. I'm worried Cam. I love you and it's hard to see you upset and just keep those feelings away. When you need someone or you need to cry come to me or Sierra. We understand okay?" "Thanks Mel. I will. I love you." I gave her a kiss and went to sleep.

*The Next Morning*

I woke up and saw the doctor walk in. "Hi Doctor. How's Emma?" "We found something." I was broken right there. "What exactly did you find?" "Cancer. She has lung cancer." I heard those words and saw Melanie wake up. The doctor walked out and I just cried. "Cameron. What's wrong?" "Emma." "What about Emma. Tell me what's wrong Cameron!!" "She has lung cancer." I saw tears quickly escape. I sat next to her and hugged her tightly in my arms. "We'll get through this. We'll pay for treatments. She'll be okay." I gave her a kiss on the forehead and we sat quietly and cried. We just needed time. After a bit Sierra and my mom walked in. "Hey guys. What's going on?" I walked out with my mom to tell them separately. "Mom. Emma has lung cancer." She started crying. I pulled her in close for a hug. She walked in and stayed with Melanie. Sierra then walked out. "What's wrong Cam?" "Emma. She has lung cancer." "What?" "Yeah.. This wasn't supposed to be like this Sierra." "I know Cameron. I'm so sorry. We'll get through this and I'll be here the whole way." She pulled me in for a hug as we both silently cried. We both walked back into the room. "Mel. Do you want to go see her?" She nodded. She looked up at me and gave me a slight smile with her bloodshot eyes. We walked to the nursery and saw her sleeping. "She's beautiful." Mel said as she looked up to me. "She is." I kissed her forehead gently as we hugged each other. The nurse saw us standing there so she walked out. "Are you Emma's parents?" "Yes ma'am." "You can come in and see her if you'd like." We walked in and went up to Emma. This is the closest we've gotten since we could only see from the glass window. "We'll be taking her down to another nursery where there are a couple other babies just because of her condition." "Okay. Will we be able to see her?" "Yes." We walked out as the nurse took Emma down the hall. We saw where the other nursery was located so we went to the room and got my sister and mom. We all walked down and went inside to see Emma. "The best we can do is get rid of the cancer and give her a tank to breathe from afterwards." The nurse said behind us. "How long will she be in here?" "About a month or so." All I wanted to do was go home and watch my daughter live a normal life, now living a normal life isn't something we see in the near future. I got a text from Lox.

L-We're in Melanie's room. Where are you guys?

C-I'll be right there. We were just paying Emma a visit.

I put my phone away. "Lox is here so I'll go get them and bring them down." I walked to Melanie's room and saw Jacob and Lox there with the kids. "Hey Cameron. How is she?" The kids were in front of us playing around so I decided to tell them. Instead of having Derek hear the news. "She has lung cancer." I whispered. I saw tears form in Mahogany's eyes. "Is she going to make it?" "Yeah. Shes going to have to stay for about a month or so." "Cam. I'm sorry. If you need anything just let us know." Jacob said. We reached the nursery. Derek went rushing in and hugged Mel. "Hi Mom. How's my sister?" "Hi D. Um. She's doing alright." "Okay. Good." He looked at his sister and smiled. "Did you tell them?" Mel said. "Yeah." "Tell who what?" Derek said looking at us. "Nothing D." "Please tell me. If it's about Emma I just want to know." He said with tears falling down his cheek. "Are you sure?" He nodded. I walked out into the hall with him. "Buddy. You're little sister has cancer." He started crying even more. He hugged me tightly. "Is she going to be okay Dad?" "Yeah. She's going to have to stay for a month or maybe longer." "Dad. Why did this happen to her?" "I don't know D. I honestly wish I did. But you can't change it." "I Love You Dad. Can I come everyday and visit her with you and mom?" "D what about school?" "I can do it online." "How do you know about online schooling?" "I get bored on the internet sometimes." He said with a smile. "I suppose so. Just let me talk to your mom first." We walked back in. "Mom can I do online school? And come visit Emma everyday with you and Dad?" Melanie looked up at me. I had nothing to say because I wasn't expecting him to ask right now. "Um. Sure I guess." "Yes!"
