Melanie's POV~

Carter-I hope you're not back yet. Wouldn't like to hurt Emma or Derek😏

Cameron-I'm not. Don't lay a hand on them. I'm just doing this for their sake

Carter-Oh I know. As long as Mel ends up in my arms.

I couldn't believe this. Cameron left to protect his family. Us. Derek. Emma. Me. I decided to read Tiffany's texts.

T-So you left her... Wanna hang out later😉

C-No. I was forced to leave and I'm not leaving the love of my life and my family for you Tiffany. You're crazy!

I called Cameron.

C-I'm sorry I haven't come back yet-

M-Why'd you leave? Can you just tell me?

C-I wish I could Mel. I just can't.

M-I know it was because of Carter.

C-H-How?

I could hear his voice shake.

M-I saw your texts on your laptop. You should've just told me. I thought you left because of the pregnancy

C-No. I would never. I was disappointed when you told me because I knew I had to leave that night. You can't tell anyone especially Carter. I just want you guys safe. I love You Babe. I'll be home as soon as I can.

M-Okay Cam. I'll wait for you. Don't worry. Love You. Bye.

I hung up and called the police. I filed a report of Carter's texts to Cameron and they had Carter in custody. I called Cameron to tell him.

M-Come home

C-I can't. You'll get hurt-

M-No. I took Care of him. Well the police did. Please just come back I miss you so much

C-On the way.

I was happy I finally got to see him again. I laid down in the living room. Cameron came in and ran towards the couch. I jumped up into his arms. "I missed you so much Mel. I'm so sorry for leaving." I gave him a kiss. "I missed you too. And it's okay. You did it to protect us. I love you Cameron." "I love You too Melanie." I picked up the kids from Mahogany's house and went home. "Dad!" Derek said running to Cameron. "Buddy! I missed you so much D." "I missed you too Dad. Where'd you go?" "I uh. Had a business trip. Sorry for leaving." "It's okay." Derek sat on the couch and Emma was sleeping. "So what do you guys wanna do?" Cameron asked Derek and I. "Can we just spend time together? I've missed you a lot and I just want to be with you." He nodded and grabbed my hand. We went upstairs and laid down. I laid my head down on his chest. "I've missed your presence Mel. I'm sorry for leaving and not telling you. I truly am." "Cameron. It's okay. You did it to protect us and that shows a lot. Thank you for protecting our kids Cameron. I love you." I looked up as Cameron's finger was on my chin. "I love you too." He gave me a kiss and we just sat there in the silence. A nice silence. I soon fell asleep in Cameron's arms. I woke up and saw him gone. I went downstairs and saw him laying on the couch. "Where's D?" "I dropped him off at Noah's." I nodded and went to the kitchen. I grabbed the orange juice and poured myself a glass. "Wanna go out to dinner?" Cameron said as his arms were around my waist. "Are you asking me on a date Mr.Dallas?" "Surely am. Well?" I nodded and turned around. "I would love to." I went to take a sip from the straw until Cameron sipped some. "Hey! Pour yourself a glass!" I joked with him and went upstairs. I wore a black dress with black heels. I curled my hair with a wand and headed to my closet to get some jewelry. I heard the door open and heard Cameron's footsteps. I rushed to the door and locked it. "Mel can I just see?" "No! Wait until I'm done. Why don't you get dressed?" "Ugh. Fine." He walked away and I finished putting the bracelet on. I walked out and into the living room to wait for Cameron. He walked down and stopped halfway down the stairs. "Why are you staring?" I said with a giggle. "You look amazing Mel." He walked towards me and we got in the car.
