Chapter 8

Cameron's POV~

In about 2 weeks I was leaving for a business trip in Arizona. I've been wanting to tell Melanie but it's never a good time. I don't know how I'll tell her. But I'm staying for 2 months because it's all for the business I'm creating. I laid down and thought about how I could tell her. "Babe. Breakfast is done." She said as she peeked her head through the door. "Okay. I'll be right down." She walked back downstairs and I put a shirt on.

Melanie's POV~

Cameron seemed nervous and on edge lately. I don't know what was bothering him but I just let it go for now. I walked down and sat Derek at the table. "Pancakes or waffles?" "Waffles Please mom." I served him some waffles with syrup and butter. "Thanks Mom." "No problem Bud." Cameron walked down. "Morning Dad." "Morning D." He walked near me. "Dad? Gosh he's growing up real fast." He whispered in my ear. "I know. I'm gonna miss him." He gave me a kiss on the cheek and got his plate. We all sat down at the Table and ate breakfast.

*2 weeks later*

I woke up and saw Cameron gone. But it was 8:00 in the morning where could he have gone? I decided to call my brother.

"Morning Nash. Have you heard from Cameron?"

"Um. No. Why?"

"Hamilton Nash Grier tell me the truth right now."

"Okay. He's on a business trip to Arizona for 2 months. To start up his new business." I felt my eyes starting to water. I couldn't believe he didn't tell me.

"How long have you known?"

"2 weeks."

"2 weeks?! And you didn't want to tell me?" I hung up afterwards. I was upset and angry that he would just run off like that. I decided to text him. But lead him onto thinking I still didn't know.

M-Hey Babe. Since you're out can you bring me Starbucks? I'm really craving some coffee right now.

C-Sure. I'll be there in a bit

I couldn't believe he was still lying. I put my phone down and got into the shower. Derek spent the night and Mahogany's last night. I got out and saw a missed call from Cameron.

M-Sorry I was in the shower. What'd you wanna talk about?

C-it can wait

M-Why aren't you back yet? It's been an hour Cam

He didn't answer. I was pissed and upset he just left. Left with his bags and that's it. I called Lox.

"Morning Lox."

"Morning Mel. What's up? I thought Derek was staying tonight too?"

"He is. I just wanted to talk. About Cameron."

"What's going on?"

"He left for 2 months to Arizona. He didn't tell me. He just packed his bags this morning and left."

"I'm so sorry Mel. It's gonna be okay. I'll be there for you. Just like you were there for me. Jacob's coming back later so the 3 of us can hangout with the kids." I was happy to have her as a friend. She's changed over the years and we became real close.
