Their eyes locked. Yet he still managed to stride his steps without tumbling.
Their hearts thumped, yet they both managed to keep a straight face.

He went behind her.
He said nothing.
He just gave her the note.
And she took it.

She was staring at him as he walked away, unsure of what to say. Thank Merlin for Ginny...

'What the actual hay was that all about?' She blurted.

Hermione stared at her, 'I'm not sure myself, Gin.'

Ginny groaned, 'fine, whatever. Just read the note! I want to know what it says.'

Hermione looked at the note then at her friend and said, 'I'm scared.'

Ginny scoffed and asked sarcastically, 'Of what? The boogie monster? Just open it!'

'Maybe later, I'm late for class.' Hermione got up and readied her belongings.

'But class doesn't start for another like... 12 minutes!' Ginny tried reasoning, but Hermione was out the door.

That evening
7:28 pm

After a full day of learning and spells, Hermione has been tearing her hair out because she was anxious about the letter, which she still hasn't opened... Can you blame her? She doesn't know what to expect. Nobody knows what to expect!

Ugh Hermione, she told herself, just grow a pair and read it!

She took a deep breath in and unfolded it.

Tutoring tonight at 7:30.
C u then.

Hermione had to read his note twice before processing what he wrote.

That means he's going to be here... any second now...

It was ironic how there was a knock on the door just then.

Uh oh
Hermione went to the door and opened it cautiously.

'Don't get too excited, Granger, it's just me,' she heard a voice say.

"Oh shit" was all Hermione could think before the door roughly flew open, almost knocking her down.

'Hey, what the hell... Pansy? What are you doing here?' Hermione tried to rebound her feet to the ground; that's what happens when the door flies open at 60 mph.

'Uhh hello dingus brain, my dorm is literally right next to yours.'

Hermione sighed, 'just tell me what you want.'

'It's obvious what I want, isn't it?' Pansy asked, slowly walking towards her. 'I want you to stay away.'

'Away? Away from what?' Hermione asked, genuinely confused.

'Away from who is what you should be asking.' Pansy said. She was right in front of Hermione now. 'Don't get too comfortable with Draco, he only likes... certain girls.' She smirked when she saw Hermione's face grimace.

'Weren't you just in a fight with Malfoy? Or better yet, were you just in bed in the infirmary?'

'Nonsense! How could I ever stay mad at him?' Pansy smiled, 'I look great, no? Madam Pomfrey promised a quick and easy recovery, and that's exactly what she gave.'
