As Krieger and I finished our long two hour practice, he was exhausted. Every muscle in my body ached. I tied him up in the breezeway and watched as drops of sweat glistened on his back. As I pulled the saddle and saddle blanket off of his back, his saddle blanket was full of sweat. I slipped on Krieger's halter and lead him towards the wash bay with the shampoo and equipment needed in my other hand. I spotted Gabby washing down her horse as I lead Krieger in the stall beside her. "Hey" I called to her as I tied Krieger into the cross ties. "How was practice?" She asked. I turned on the hose and began washing down Krieger. "Tiring, I don't think I've ever had to work that hard before" I muttered, "What do you mean?" Gabby asked with a raised eyebrow. "At my last riding stables I was always the best, it was just easy" I shrugged. "You guys are amazing, it's kind of hard to keep up" I continued. "You'll get used to it" Gabby shrugged. "Hey, my parents are away for a few days and I was wandering if you wanted to stay the night at mine?" I asked. "Sure, it could be fun" she shrugged. After washing Krieger down I lead him into his stall. I noticed Callum, Alex and Gabby leading their blanketed horses outside. "We're taking the horses out into the paddock, come on" Alex called. I threw on Krieger's closest cotton blanket I found and followed close behind them. After taking Krieger's halter off he nickered at me before galloping deeper into the paddock after the other horses, giving a few bucks and kicks as he ran. "I'll go pack my stuff and meet you at your car" Gabby heading towards her dorm. I headed back into the stables to organise Krieger's things that I had left in a mess in his tack room. I noticed a stable hand already in there staring to clean it up. "I've got it, it's okay" I told the nice man. He nodded and left the room. I began to organise the bridles, hanging them along the walls of the room.
After finishing organising the tack room and proud of my accomplishment I grabbed my car keys and headed towards the car. Gabby was leaning against the black SUV as I arrived. "I was scared you got eaten by a horse or something" she giggled. "I was just organising the tack room" I explained. "Don't stable hands do that?" She asked as we got in the car. "I just love knowing where everything is and making sure that the tack has been handled properly" I started to explain. "So you're a control freak" she giggled. I laughed along with her. "Practically" I nodded in agreement. As the two of us drove home in silence my thoughts continued to go back to Krieger and my fathers threat. "You okay?" Gabby asked raising an eyebrow at my silence. "Yeah, just zoned out" I nodded turning my eyes back to the road.
As we arrived home, Gabby raised an eyebrow at me. "I'm really not surprised" she giggled. "We can go put your stuff in my room" I said leading her upstairs. After changing into black ripped jeans and a black and white bodysuit, followed by white converse.

I made my way downstairs and waited for Gabby. The doorbell rung while I was downstairs sorting snacks for Gabby and I. I opened the door to find Pin, Zoe, Callum and Alex outside. "What are you guys doing here?" I asked raising an eyebrow at the sight. "Gabby invited us?" Alex tone turned into a question. "I invited them" Gabby called from the stairs. "Alright come on in" I shrugged knowing my parents wouldn't care if a few more people came over. "Jade and Becky are on their way as well as Mia and Susie" Zoe informed me. I lead them into the lounge room and told them to get comfortable while I pulled Gabby into the kitchen. "A warning would've been nice" I whispered. "Sorry, it completely slipped my mind, I want to get into their heads before we kick their butts!" She smiled. I began to mentally prepare myself to see Pin and Zoe together and to try and not feel hurt. I wouldn't show any emotion to it, I was happy with Callum. Really I was. Gabby and I brought out, pretzels, crisps and a small fruit platter I had quickly pulled together. "I'll go grab drinks" Gabby called disappearing back into the kitchen. "I'll go and make sure she doesn't get lost" I giggled, everyone else joined in. Gabby was pulling out cans of soda from the fridge, my mother had stocked up before leaving. I gave her a hand as we carried the sodas into the lounge room where everyone was spread between the two couches. Right now the two teams sat awkwardly silent. I took a seat in between Callum and Gabby. Callum leaned closer into me, wrapping his arm over my shoulder. The doorbell rung breaking the silence. I jumped from my spot making Callum drop his arm off of my shoulder. As I opened the door, I saw Becky and Jade standing in front of a tall young man. "Hey guys come in" I smiled. "I'm Marcus" he introduced holding his hand out for me to shake. "Brooklyn" I said. I lead them into the lounge room and I went back to my seat in between Callum and Gabby. The room went back into an awkward silence. I noticed Becky to be the only Bright fields rider on our couch as she sat next to Alex. Jade and Marcus took a seat next to Pin and Zoe. "Susie and Mia should be here soon" Marcus stated breaking the silence. The room went back to silence. I plugged my phone into the large speaker in the corner of the room, and began to play soft music in the background. "I love this song!" Jade gasped. I smiled trying to continue the conversation. "I saw them last summer in London" I said. "Really?" Jade yelled. "They would be amazing in concert!" Jade said dreamily. "The friend I went with had never heard of them before, so by the end of the concert they were in love with the band" I explained. I could see Pin's glare from the corner of my eye and it made me smile. The doorbell finally rung and I think we were all hoping that Susie and Mia could break the awkwardness. I made my way to the door and opened it. Susie and Mia stood outside. Mia was staring at her newly manicured nails and Susie stood behind her with Mia and her bag. "Come in" I forced a smile letting the two in. "Cute cottage" Mia smirked and walked past me. "Do you guys wanna order pizza?" I asked hoping we could agree on something. "Pepperoni!" Alex and Becky called. "Vegetarian" Mia demanded. "Cheese" Jade added. "BBQ chicken" Callum suggested. I nodded and left the room.
Once I returned from ordering the pizza everyone was still silent, sitting awkwardly. "So what do you guys want to do until the pizza arrives?" I asked trying to make conversation. "Truth or dare" Gabby smirked. "Again!" Zoe groaned. "Zoe's right it's a bad idea!" Pin agreed. "Someone's got secrets to hide" I eyed him. "Don't we all?" He asked back. "We are definitely playing" Gabby eyed Pin and I. "I'm not playing" Pin refused. "Scared?" Callum chuckled. "It's called maturity" Zoe shot back at Pin defending her boyfriend. "Oh is that maturity?" I chuckled sarcastically. "Brooklyn, truth or dare" Zoe questioned raising na eyebrow at me. "Truth" I shrugged, I didn't have any deep secrets that would come back and bite me. "Who was the person you took to that concert in London?" She asked. Pin's eyes widened at the question. "Peter" I covered myself. I wasn't lying Pin's birth name was Peter. "Pin, truth or dare" I asked. "I'm not playing" he shrugged. "Too much to hide?" I asked. "Truth" He said quickly. "Do you think you're better then Holloway's best rider?" I asked. "Who's Holloway's best rider exactly?" He asked. "Brooklyn" Alex and Callum said at the same time. "Yeah I do" he nodded. I shook my head in disbelief and I couldn't help but laugh. "How wrong you are" I giggled. "Prove it Harris!" He glared. We all looked around the circle of us, everyone with smirks spread across their faces. "I dare Pin and Brooklyn to a cross country race, tonight" Mia smirked. I knew what I was kgetting into at that moment, I also knew it wasn't going to end well.
