I pulled into the driveway of the house and my mother's black SUV sat in the driveway as well as a red SUV. I didn't recognise the number plate or the car itself. I got out of the car and made my way into the house.
"Mom!" I called from the front door. Her head peaked out from the kitchen and she smiled at me.
"Come on, Ive made lunch" she smiled. The two faces that sat in the kitchen caught me off guard. I looked at the two of them and then back at my mom.
"What the hell are you doing in my house?" I asked furrowing my eyebrows.
"Hi Brooklyn" Mia grumbled sitting next to a man I was guessing was her father.
"This is Mia's father Elliot" my mother introduced.
"Mom, I need to talk to you" I whispered to her.
"Can it wait, we have guests" she said through gritted teeth. I could smell the flowery perfume she had on, she only wore it on dates she went on with dad.
"Yeah, it can wait" I nodded. I took a seat across the table from Mia.
"So how's practice going?" Elliot asked.
"Great, we're ready for regionals" I shrugged. Mia glared at me.
"Yes well so are we!" Mia defended.
"James selected me to be the solo rider" I added. My mom clasped her hands together.
"Brooklyn that's great!" She beamed.
"Pin is our solo rider" Mia mumbled.
"Good, I bet him once I can do it again" I shrugged shooting her a dirty look.
"I doubt that, he's been training 24/7" she defended.
"He has to train that hard to try and beat me, that's cute" I shrugged.
"That's not what I meant!" She yelled jumping from the table.
"Mia sit down!" Her father ordered her.
"Yes daddy" she sighed and took her seat again.
The front door opened and the sound of one set of man shoes walked through the door as well as one set of high heels.
"Brooklyn, Julia!" A voice called.
"Dad?" I asked standing from the table. I watch Elliot's face turn a little whiter, he sat uncomfortably in his seat.
"What are you doing in my house!" My mother snapped.
"My house" my father corrected.
"Only until the divorce goes through!" My mother added.
"What are you doing here?" I asked breaking the awkward silence in the room. I looked the brunette up and down that stood beside my dad, she looked like a supermodel with her dark tan skin and her bright blue eyes.
"I'm Blair" she smiled introducing herself. She held her hand out to shake mine and my mother's eyes widened at the large rock on it.
"Are you engaged?" She asked.
"Yes we are" my father announced.
"I was trying to tell you" I started.
"We better go" Elliot said standing from the table.
"I'll walk you out" my mother said wanting to exit the room as fast as she could.
When they left the room I turned to my dad.
"What the hell are you doing here!" I yelled at him.
"I have a surprise for you" he smiled.

My mom and is at silently in the back of the car on the way to Holloway.
"What are you up to!" My mother glared at him.
"It's a surprise" my father chuckled.
"I hate surprises" I mumbled. Blair sat in the front seat her hand sat on my dads thigh.
As we pulled up to the stables the sight took my breath away. There stood a dark bay warmblood at 17 hands high.
"What is that?" My mom asked.
"This is King" my father said as we stepped out of the car.
"Your new horse" he beamed holding his hands out for me to run into them.
"I already have a horse" I frowned crossing my arms over my chest.
"Krieger is an Olympic potential, he's flying to Spain after regionals to train with Olympic riders" my father explained.
"So you thought you could just replace my horse?" I asked.
"Come on Brooklyn go give him a try" he smiled nodding towards King. The bay was already saddled and waiting. I could see the stable hand was having trouble keeping him still as the horse turned his bum to the sides shaking his head. He wanted to move, to run. The stable hand held my helmet on his other arm. I sighed giving in to the urge to ride the horse. I clipped on my helmet and walked to the front of the horse. His deep brown eyes begged me to ride him. I could see the energy he had as he looked around snorting and nickering at everything. I mounted the horse and I looked down. It was a big height difference compared to Krieger. If I fell it would be painful.
Ace pulled at the reins biting at the bit, we fought each other for control as we cantered around the obstacles. He had a beautiful gate taking a soft canter. I tightened the reins and gave him a tap of the whip the stable hand had passed me after I mounted. Ace let out a loud snort and attempted to throw his head in refusal. After a few minutes of cantering Ace was covered in sweat. His coat had darkened and his head had dropped low.
"What do you think?" My dad called out to me.
"He's unfit, has an attitude and doesn't know who's boss" I shrugged slipping off of the horses back. He snorted and threw his head in the air.
"So he needs a bit of work" my father shrugged.
"That's an understatement" my mother said agreeing with me.
"Then come to London with me and choose your own damn horse" my father rolled his eyes. I looked at Ace. I could see the potential he had, but he was no where near ready for showing and I couldn't do it by myself. I knew what would happen to King if I didn't take him on.

After returning home I called Pin twice, no answer. I climbed down the stairs and grabbed my keys from the kitchen bench.
"Where are you going?" My mom asked.
"I have to go see someone, I'll see you later" I called running for the front door.
"Tell Callum I said hi" she called back. I looked down at my boots, what would Callum think if he knew where I was going? He would be furious.
I sat in the drivers seat and it took me a moment to decide wether to go or not.
I pulled up to the small cottage like house.
I spotted Pin grooming his horse under a small DIY made shelter.
"Come to slap me again?" He mumbled.
"I wish" I mumbled.
"I need a hand with something" I said. He turned to me with a raised eyebrow.
"It has to do with a new horse" I added.
