Our usual "For Sale sign had been taken away. And, in its place, a sign the read "SOLD".

Mom did it.

She finally sold the house.

We're actually moving.

It was finally all sinking in. Before Declan could catch up to me, I ran into the house and into my bedroom. I threw my stuff onto the floor and myself onto the bed.

Declan came in less than ten seconds later and I turned over so he wouldn't see my face. I didn't know what to do. I mean, what could I do? Nothing would change the fact that I'm leaving.

I felt the bed dip behind me and Declan rubbing my arm. I heard him typing on his phone and, before I knew it, Kyla was standing in the doorway with Brittany behind her. "I think it's time for a long overdue girls night."

"And guy!" Declan pointed out. Oh my gosh I love having a gbf.

We did a braid train (because why not?) with Declan on the end of course. Then put on face masks and painted our nails all while binge watching the Vampire Diaries. No girls (and guy) night is complete without watching the Vampire Diaries.

Mom walked in and tossed a large, yellow envelope at me. "Mails here!"

I ripped the envelope open read what was inside. It was the results to my DNA test.

Mother: Caroline Bennett-Sawyer

Father: Benjamin Sawyer

These are them. My biological parents. I have to find them. I have to meet them. Was all that was on my mind. I completely forgot I wasn't alone.

"What is it?" Brittany asked before Roan came bursting into the room with his laptop in his hands.

"No way, is that it?" Roan was the only one I told about the DNA test. Before I could reply anything he open his laptop and started working his tech magic.

By the time I explained what was happening to my friends, Roan had found them. "The most recent information I can find is from almost five years ago."

"So?" I asked him.

"Well before that, there were plenty of social media posts and general changes..."

"Meaning?"

He kept beating around the bush. "Well, it could either mean they just decided to go awol, which is very possible since according to their profiles they have kids who are young and we both know how much of a handful those can be-"

"Or?" I was in a bit of shock, knowing I had brothers or sisters out there somewhere, but I really wanted to know why Roan was rambling and not telling me the real reason.

"...or...they're dead."

"But they could be alive right?" I asked as he did more of...whatever it is that he does.

"Ummm...no...."

"What do you mean, 'no?'"

"Well, i just found this."

It was a Facebook update from about four years ago from an account, @CadeTSawyer. It stated that his parents were killed in a car accident. They were driving over a bridge when another car hit them from the side and they fell into the water.

I didn't respond to the fact that my biological parents were dead. It didn't matter. Well, it did but there's nothing I can do to change that. But I can change the fact that I don't know my biological brother.

I grabbed Roan laptop and clicked on the username, bringing me to his profile. Tall, light hair, 24 years old. He sounds like an older version of Roan.
