Walking into the Marketing classroom, I see someone I wasn't expecting to have a class with whatsoever. "Brock?"

At the sound of his name, he look over from his seat and smiles. I run over and give him a huge hug, grateful to see a familiar face. He chuckled, and I could feel his chest vibrate.

When I finally pull away, I noticed a girl standing next to us, staring. She looked like she could be a model. Seriously, what's up with all the good looking people in this school? She had to have been at least 5'9", and had medium length dark brown hair.

"Hey, you must be Jessie. Brock's told me so much about you." I couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy. Who is this girl?

"Jess, this is my younger sister, May."

Ohhhhh. I didn't even know Brock had a sister. "Babe, why didn't you tell me you had a sister?" I might have questioned him more about it if the bell hadn't rang.

"Ah, you must be our new student, Jessica." I turn around and see a tall, blonde woman in her mid 30s.

I peek down at my schedule to check what her name is. "Yes, Ms.... Taggart?"

"You can take a seat right there in the third row." She pointed to a seat which I saw was right next to May. "And see me after class to get the work you missed." I nodded and quickly hurried over to my seat, right smack in the middle of the classroom.

"Remember class, tomorrow is the Club Fair. During lunch, you can sign up for any clubs you'd like. Each one will have a booth set up in the main gym. I will be at the DECA booth. I told you all on the first day that if you sign up for DECA, you'll get two bonus points."

I want to sign up for a club anyway. My Animal Science teacher told us we would get bonus points for joining her club too, FFA. I'm not really interested in either club. But, since I did just miss 3 days of classes, I figured I can use whatever I can get.

"What clubs are you guys signing up for?" Orange asked as we all walked into the gym.

We all just shrugged, mixed with some "I don't know"s. The only one of us who had even gone to this school last year was Zeke.

The eight of us shuffled around the gym, all huddling together. One of the first booths we stumbled across was the Future Farmers of America club, also know as FFA.

I wasn't surprised there was only one person at the booth. Most of the booths had 2 or 3 people. Mrs. Hale, my Animal Science teacher had told us that she was starting this club this year. It's just her and the other Agriculture teacher running it. She had also told us multiple times that this was her first year teaching, no surprise. She can't be older than 25.

"Hey, Mrs. Hale." I caught her attention as we approached the booth.

"Hey, Jessie!" From the 2 days I've known Mrs. Hale, I can tell she treats her students more like friends. "You here to sign up? I know you're gonna love it."

Mel and I both quickly scribbled our names down on the nearly blank list. "Um, I think I'll sign up too." I whipped my head back towards the table as we began to walk away. It was Zeke. I can't say I'm not surprised. Zeke doesn't exactly strike me as a farmer or even the animal loving type. More like an emo type that gives off 'don't fuck with me' vibes.

My friends signed up for some other clubs before we all headed over to the bigger booths, in the middle of the gym.

In giant blue letters spelt DECA. I, of course, signed up, along with Spencer and John. They're both taking Sports Marketing, and their teacher is also giving extra credit for joining.

We were about to leave before Kelly spoke up. "Hey, does anyone wanna check out the Drama club with me? They have a big booth set up over there." She pointed back towards the DECA booth.

I am taking theatre next semester, so this could be good practice. Plus, a good way to get on the teacher's good side before class starts. "Sure." I nod and Kelly, Mel, and I all walk back towards the Drama club's booth.

"I'll catch up with you later." I hear someone call out from behind us before watching as Zeke jogged passed us, moving toward the back of the gym.

Once he passed the drama club booth, he was out of sight from all of us. "Don't worry about him. He does that sometimes." Kelly said, trying to get us all to move on from the random moment we had just witnessed.

The rest of the boys left the gym. And we three girls signed up for the only club I'm joining for a reason besides a grade.
