1:00 pm

It's been 5 months since Brock and I split. To be honest, it hit me harder than I expected. It's not that I still care about the bastard, believe me I don't. I think it's just that he was my first real boyfriend.

Seeing Brock every single day in class was unbearably hard. But, a few weeks ago the new semester started, my birthday passed, and I have all new classes. Classes I actually enjoy. It's like I was given a chance to start over.

Plus, one of my friends is with me at, literally all times. It's sweet, but it gets seriously annoying. I have Chorus with Orange, Spencer and Mel. Kelly is in Theatre, Sam is in Math, and John is in English. I have at least one of them breathing down my neck, waiting for me to crack at all times.

All of them, except Zeke.  Zeke has become a lot more open, and carefree since that night on the pier. We actually started to hangout pretty often outside of school.

Zeke showed up at the Sawyer house today, and asked if we could hangout. I was mentally and physically preparing myself for the DECA competition. Regardless of the large number of boys living here, it's still quieter than my mom's house. District competition is this Thursday, but me being me could never say no to anyone. Spencer and Orange weren't even home, so I couldn't slowly force Zeke to hangout with them instead.

Now, Zeke is lounging on a beanbag chair, up on the loft, watching a movie on my laptop. I had to keep him entertained while I pack. I swear he's like a little kid.

"Hey, Zeke? Can you quiz me while I pack? There's a stack of flash cards on my bed." I asked before slipping into my closet to grab a couple of outfits. It'd only be 2 nights, so I took 2 regular outfits, some pajamas, and 3 outfits I can wear for competitions, meetings, ceremonies, whatever.

As I stepped back out, Zeke started throwing questions at me. "What are the four Ps of marketing?"

"Price, product, promotion, and place." I answered without hesitation. "Give me some sort of challenge, will ya?" Considering what some of the upperclassmen in DECA have told me, you can't study much for the role play portion of the competition. Just the basics and the terminology. So that's what I'm doing.

"Fine. What are the four types of utilities?"

"I said a challenge. They're form, place, time and possession." I climb up onto the loft and plop into the beanbag across from him.

We continued like that for a while, until I got through all the cards. I climbed into my bed, feeling mentally exhausted, and pulled the covers over me. Realizing Zeke is still there, I sat back up.

Surprisingly, he decided to climb in next to me. He stayed sitting up, and on top of the covers. He pulled my laptop over from where it sat on the chair and opened it up. He was in the middle of watching the Three Stooges, a classic. He resumed the movie from where he had left off.

As the credits started to roll, the fatigue hit me once again, and I decided to finally give in. I drifted off, next to Zeke, into the most peaceful sleep I had had in a long time.
