"I see you've found your new room."

I could feel my eyebrows raise past my hairline. "You're serious?!"

"Well, you're here so often and you're a part of the family now. We thought you should have a space of your own." Orange chimed in.

"I love it. I love it. I love it!" I threw my arms around all 3 of them. "Thank you!"

Darrell pulled out of my hold and told me "Well, it was really Cade's idea. He started ordering furniture right after he met you in New York!"

I climbed up onto the loft and plopped into a beanbag chair. I really think I could get used to this.

The boys came and filled the rest of the chairs with Orange sitting on the bed. "By the way, we met some guys who go to our school when we were at the skate park. They invited us to a party they're having tonight. Want to come?" He asked.

"I'd love to, but my mom would never let me. She's been way more strict since we moved here."

"Tell her you're spending the night here. You have your own room, might as well use it."

"I'm not sure.... There's not usually much room for convincing once Mom's made up her mind. My dad told her for twenty years he wanted to stay in New York, yet here we are." They gave me the puppy dog eyes. Oh come on, how can I say no to that?! Seriously, how can I say no to that? "Fine.... I'll ask."

He shrugs. "That's all I'm asking."

"Alright, I'd better get going than." I gave each of them a hug goodbye and climbed down from the loft. I stopped in the doorway. "Oh, and...." I turned back around to face them. ".....get out of my room." I told them sweetly.

Mom surprisingly agreed to letting me stay at the Sawyers' tonight. I believe her exact words were "You should get to know them before school starts. That way you'll know some other people on the first day."

I started packing a bag for tonight. "Clothes, check. Phone charger, check. Party outfit, check. Phone..... not check."

My head shot up when I heard my phone ringing on my desk. Kyla was trying to video chat me.

"Hey, Ky! What's up?"

"I should be asking you that! You haven't called in weeks and even then you just said everything was fine and hung up."

"Okay, well....um..truth is I've been avoiding you."

"No duh! But why?" I haven't told Kyla yet that I kissed Brayden. She's had a crush on him for, like, ever! I just don't know how she'll take it.

Better to just get it over with, right? "I kissed Brayden."

I braced myself for the impact. Screaming, crying, there are so many ways this could go.

"What?! No way! Bressie has finally happened! Brittany'll be so pumped when I tell her."

"No!" I didn't bother to address the fact that she wasn't totally pissed at me. I just couldn't let this spread. "You can't tell Brittany. You can't tell anyone." I said to her her slowly, hoping it would sink in.

She nodded.

"I'm glad you're not mad at me."

"Why would I be mad?" She sounded confused.

"Well, I mean, I know how much you like him...."

"Don't worry girl! I just think he's hot. I am all for Bressie." She paused, lost in thought. "When was this?"
