Part Four: Planet Merion
<23> Another Life-Friendly Planet
I entered my third year on the planet. I have not been able to see the natural environment of the planet Merion because I usually stayed indoors. I wonder how similar it is to Earth environment. When I first landed at the airport or went to the Solar System History Museum, I felt as pleasant as on Earth, but if it were a human body, I would have felt differently.
"Is the composition of this planet similar to that of Earth?"
"The Solar System and Merion Star System were formed in the same nebula, and so the composition of two planets should be similar. The surface of the planet Merion is also covered with rocks, soil, water, and various minerals.
Although the percentage of nitrogen in Earth's atmosphere is overwhelmingly high, the proportion of oxygen is also high, which makes life easier to breathe. Other planets of the solar system are thin in the atmosphere and full of toxic substance, such as ammonia, methane and hydrogen sulfide, which should be similar to those in outer space. Until now, humans have found many gas planets in outer space, but not rocky planets with temperature, water or air suitable to sustain life.
In 2014, astronomers used the Hubble and Kepler telescopes to find a planet about the size of Neptune in Cygnus 120 light years from Earth, which is believed to have clean air and water vapor. But it is most likely a hot planet that is too close to the star and covered with a thick layer of gas. The super Earth Gliese 832 C, which orbits a red dwarf star 16 light years away from the solar system, is also too close to the star and five times larger than Earth, making life unfit for existence.
Since we began exploring outer planets, we have found more than 5,000 terrestrial planet candidates until 2014, most of which are orbiting closely around their stars and are very unlikely to have liquid water on the surface. It is hard to find a planet far from its own star because we still lack the technology to detect planets.
If I had been on the planet Merion for more than two years, Earth would be around 2025. Have humans discovered Earth-like planets in the meantime? If people find celestial bodies such as planet Merion with clear skies and oceans, not far from the solar system, they will be excited. I want to pass information about this planet to the members of the UFO Research Society. They would be shocked to hear that the grays sent from this planet are sneaking Earth and conducting biological experiments on humans.
I would like to send a message to the UFO Research Society saying, 'Dear members, don't neglect your search for extra-terrestrial planet! Your friend, Lee Dae-geun, is on planet Merion. Flying saucers and aliens are not false but real. I will collect information about the planet Merion diligently and return.' But there is no way.
"Muse18, do you know that the Grays are exploring Earth?"
"Of course. That's the mission of the Space Exploration Headquarters."
"Earth humans have not found an alien planet where life can exist. They do not even know the existence of planet Merion."
"Life-friendly planets are very rare. The distance from Earth to Merion is 40 light years, and it is a miracle that two life-friendly planets are so close."
The solar system is said to be about 30,000 light years away from the center of our galaxy. Astronomers estimate that the terrestrial planets will be located more than 15,000 light years away from the center of the galaxy. Using Drake's Equation, astronomers calculated 'the number of planets that could have intelligent life in our galaxy' resulting in between 30 and 125. This means that in our galaxy, which is 100,000 light years in diameter, terrestrial planets are on average thousands of light years away. The existence of planet Merion 40 light years away from the solar system is a real miracle. Because of this, the aliens of the planet may feel special affinity for the human beings of Earth.
