King Ethan the terrible
Signe huffed and sat up in bed, her head throbbing with thoughts. Every time she closed her diamond eyes, she saw unspeakable images, replaying constantly, despite how exhausted she was, she needed to get up. Anxiety was getting the best of her, her once large yearning for food was no longer there, nor was her need for a drink. She had very few options left to choose, especially when she was performing them alone: Jack was her only remaining assistance.
"Jack wake up now, it's actually important this time I promise," Signe whisper yelled pushing Jack out of bed. "What is it Signe?" He asked rubbing his eyes wearily. "Don't ask, just follow," She said grabbing Jack and leading him down several narrow corridors. She finally let go of his wrist and pulled him onto a large balcony with huge oak doors. The sky was grey, only small bits of blue showing from beyond the black mass that was once a collection of stars swimming in a sapphire ocean. "He's coming Jack, the king is coming," Signe wept frantically. Lightning began to flash in the sky causing Jack to jump, voices echoed from all directions. The dark sky began to fade, revealing a large face erupting in the air, this face belonging to none other than King Ethan the terrible. "SIGNE HANSEN, REPORT TO THE PALACE OF TIRACHIA AT ONCE, OR CONSEQUENCES WILL COME FORTH!" He roared, causing the ground to shake. Signe fell to the floor clutching at her ears, tears flowing like a clear river from her tired eyes. Jack escorted her back to the dorm, and shortly after arrival, she packed a spare set of clothes and headed for the door. "Signe, you can't do this alone, you should have known by now I'm coming with you!" Jack boasted slightly annoyed. "It's just like it was before, voices, hallucinations, pain, fear, anxiety, you don't understand Jack, they are lethal, unstoppable even," Signe wept. Jack looked deep into Signe's ocean-like eyes, "I need you to promise me one thing, please, just don't trust the Queen," He cried. She nodded, tears still pouring from her eyes, and reached for the door. After a few steps down the corridor, she felt something brush against her back. She fell backwards and clutched the wall in fear, covering her eyes in an attempt to conceal her tears. King Ethan stood towering over her, his sinister blue eyes matching his distinct blue hair. His red cloak embedded with jewels: flowing from his shoulders to his ankles, but to conclude, his large, glistening crown sat atop his head, dancing under the dim light. "You should know by now Signe I am a very impatient monarch, I trust you have learned many more of my attributes, all of the aimless research you have seemed to be doing," He mocked, his face giving a toneless look. "Ethan, we both know I'll be dead by dusk, it's pointless taking me to Tirachia, just kill me here, it will happen either way," Signe claimed arrogantly. "I am afraid, despite how much I would like to kill a worthless youth such as yourself, my Queen has other arrangements that I daren't convulse," He stated. Signe, despite how confident and prejudice she seemed, felt like collapsing, stood before her was not a killer, but a barbaric, sadistic monarch. "No time for meandering I'm afraid, your trial has been moved and is occurring momentarily, so move hastily or the Queen will be even more irate," He protested ushering her to the black carriage standing before them. "Why are you being nice to me?" Signe questioned. "That is the bidding of my Queen, she is in charge of your conviction, and therefore has instructed me to treat you with... modesty," He grunted through gritted teeth. She could tell his patience was wearing thin, he had always despised showing civility, no matter to whom received it, he had never respect anyone, or cared for anyone other than himself, Signe doubted he even loved the Queen:- and was most likely using her to obtain the throne. "The Queen was never a woman to excuse perpetrators, however, your trial has been delayed as of now, however, the Queen requests an...interrogation, we will arrive shortly, sit tight," The King sighed. Signe felt sick to her stomach, god knows what that vicious woman would do, she would have rather faced a trail, but unfortunately, she needed to obey, or a sentence far worse than death would occur, however, she still had one inquiry. "What am I getting interrogated on exactly?" Signe questioned, "You'll see," King Ethan laughed sickly.
