Owing an explanation
Mark, once again, fainted from shock. Jack managed to drag Amy and Mark up the ladder: Shortly after ringing an ambulance.
Amy woke up blinking rapidly due to the blinding white light in her eyes. General Nelson, Dee, Thomas, Mark and Jack all stood around her bed. "Amy, you're free to leave," Nurse Tanya said handing Thomas and Dee the release papers. They all filtered out of the room and headed for the exit. The hospital was in the heart of the military base, surrounded by gates and electric fences. General Nelson, despite practically owning the base, was still searched and checked for ID at the gates. Once they were back at the apartment blocks, General Nelson pulled Mark and Jack into a large room, with a giant oval table, and a dozen chairs. "Sit, Amy is back at her room with Thomas and Dee, I'm sure you're both wondering what exactly happened to Amy," He cleared his throat, "Have you heard of a curse called the Jesphynx?" The boys nodded. "Well as you know, the curse was passed down from a stone age family named the Keelens, and unfortunately, the Keelens were one of our ancestors, therefore I passed the curse to Thomas and he passed it onto Amy, now, I must warn you, Amy is nearly 15, and is fairly close to the both of you, whoever her first true love is after the age of 18, will inherit the curse," Mark and Jack's jaws both hit the floor. "B-but General, what will happen if she shows her egos at school?" Mark asked. "Everyone who sees will be told they are delusional, and as I'm the general, they will be forced to believe me," General Nelson smiled. "Now run along boys, you have a friend waiting for you,". Mark and Jack who were still in awe, ran to Amy's apartment. Mark opened the door and ran around the apartment like a mad man searching for Amy. "Ahem, Mr Edward, I thought you had more manners than that," Thomas said making Mark jump out of his skin. "Sorry Mr Nelson, we were looking for Amy," Jack said breaking the thick tension that filled the room. Thomas said nothing in reply but motioned them to Amy's room. Inside the room was a double bed with blue sheets, black wallpaper, dark blue carpet, and a few teddy's scattered around the room. However, there was still no signs of Amy, until Mark noticed the window wide open. Thomas exited the room his eyes puffed out with tears. From the corner of Mark's eye, he saw something glinting on the bedside table. It was a small box made of gold and encrusted with emerald. Hesitantly, Mark lifted its lid to reveal a note. "Jack look, it's a note," Jack sat beside Mark on the bed and unfolded the note:
Dear Mark and Jack,
This will leave my family worried sick but I promise I am fine, I am currently at the den. I left because I thought you would call me a freak, I assume the General has either told you of the curse or wiped your memories by now. As you know, the Jesphynx curse was cut between two families, the Keelens and the Kjellberg's, well, recently I found out that Felix's second name, is Kjellberg, and I'm going on a week-long spy mission to see if he has egos. If he does have egos, I will need your help. There is one way to stop the family curse, if a Kjellberg kills a Keelen, the Kjellberg curse is no more, vice versa. If he has alter-egos and finds out about mine, a secret war will uprise once again. I warn you, Felix's girlfriend Marzia is just as much an angel as the devil himself, stay clear of her, and meet me at the tree tonight.
