Felix stepped off the warp and grabbed David's hand before giving it a tight squeeze and pulling the man in for a hug. The moment he'd received his call he knew that it had to be something serious, so of course he wasted no time in recruiting Lapis for their little excursion. The other person was new to David though.

"Thanks for coming guys, you have no idea how much this means to me."

"Hey, if it were Steven in this situation I know you'd do everything in your power to help me and my family."

"Of course I would, you know Gwen and I-"

"Alright alright, enough of the touchy feely bullshit. Can we just start already so we can wipe these piss ants out?"

Felix and the other two scowled in Daniel's direction only to met with a nasty look that let David know that he was not in the mood to be fucked with right now.

"You'll have to forgive my brother, he's just really concerned for Max too."

"That's what you think..."

"In any case, we're thankful. Even for your new friend."

"New fr- oh you mean Stevonnie. Guys, could you please?"

Stevonnie nodded and stepped away from the rest of them before being engulfed in a bright light and splitting into two small people. Familiar people that had David shocked and Daniel confused about why anyone would bring two kids to something like this.

"S-Steven?! Connie?! What the heck are you two doing here?!"

"You know these brats?"

"We came to fight!"

"We overheard Felix's phone call and knew that we just had to come. Max is our friend and we'd do anything for him."

"Aw, guys that's so sweet but-"

"This isn't a place for children. You're here because of the childish need to hold onto any and everything that brings you joy and happiness. People are going to die tonight and I don't feel like being the reason why you two can't sleep without a night light."

Steven and Connie glared at a sneering Daniel. David knew what Steven had been capable of when he was fused with Max, so he knew that he and Connie were more than capable of helping. But on the other hand Daniel had a fair point as well. This wasn't the place for children and people were in fact going to get...seriously injured tonight. Which begged the question, why had Felix brought them in the first place?

"We're not as defenseless as you think."

"Why, because your little girlfriend has a sword and you can pull off that little merging trick? Newsflash kid, you're gonna need more than that if you want to survive tonight. Do yourselves a favor and go home."

"Why you-"

"Felix, while he is coming off as kind of a douche I have to admit that I'm concerned as well. You and I both know this isn't a place for kids."

"I agree, but at the same time we both know that they'll just find a way to get involved. With or without our consent."

"Not if I cap their knees..."

David grabbed Daniel and pulled him to the side before things could escalate. Taunting and being rude were definitely his forte but just straight threatening two children who only wanted to help them was...actually, that was up his alley too. But David didn't like it and for some reason it felt different from all the other times his twin had been a dick.
