The building was way bigger in the inside than it was on the outside. There was a long staircase going down, almost maze like. It looked like it was bottomless.
Going down the stairs cautiously, the two were looking around with their eyes. It was an abandoned building with stone walls that had a bunch of cracks on it. Not much was in it but cobwebs and dusty rugs.
Hayate, who was holding the lantern spoke up. "I never asked, but what does that piece of Triforce do anyway?"
"Well..." Lyra was thinking to herself. "The Triforce has three pieces for obvious reasons, and it's divided by power, wisdom, and courage. The three golden goddesses, Din, Nayru, and Farore created it, and that's basically how Hyrule was born."
Hayate looked impressed. "It looks like you know your history well."
"That's because my mother crammed Hyrule's history down my throat. But it's good to know."
"So... If there are three pieces, where are the other two?"
"My mother has the Triforce of Wisdom. And when I asked about my father more, she has said that he has the Triforce of Courage."
"Wait what?! He does?!" Hayate was thinking to himself. "Then how come he never used it..?"
"What do you mean?"
"Uh..." Hayate scratched the back of his head. "You know... Since he had it all this time, how come he never bothered to use it?"
"That's a good question, but I'm sure he has his reasons. I know my mother used it twice in her life. It's powerful but risky."
"It was mentioned in Zora's history too."
Lyra realized something, lightly punching herself on the head. "We've been friends since we were born, and it always slips my mind that you're the-" A strong gust of wind flew by, blocking out her words.
Hayate chuckled at her comment. "I understand. I don't look like it, and that's why it's so easy to forget that I'm the-" Another strong gust of wind flew by, blocking out his words.
"It's just hard to believe that you're a prince. You act more like a jester than anything."
"Well excuse me! I enjoy making others happy! And besides, it's worth to see someone smile. Someone like you."
A blush appeared on Lyra's face. "Why must you flirt at a time like this?"
"There's no wrong time to flirt."
"In some cases, there can be. Don't be a smartass with me."
Hayate let out a laugh. "Now you're starting to sound just like my mother. She always says don't be a smartass or do your homework. Man... She can be scary when I piss her off. I remember that one time I got the slipper. My bottom will never forget it."
Lyra giggled. "You were a troublemaker. You told me one time you jumped off a waterfall to show your parents that you can-"
"Don't mention that! It's embarrassing!" Hayate slightly blushed and smirked right afterwards. "I remember you painted all over the castle walls, and your mother got furious with you."
Lyra looked away while blushing. "Are you trying to get payback?"
"Maybe or maybe not. You will never know."
Lyra let out a sigh. "I swear..."
The two finally made it to the bottom of the stairs. It was still pitch black and empty. Hayate moved the lantern, spotting a closed door from afar. "Look over there, Lyra!"
