Link caught his daughter in his arms before she could fall to the ground. Visibly angry, Zelda swung her sword at Ganondorf, but he quickly dodged it, keeping his distance.

Lyra was slowly breathing, blood running down her mouth. She looked up at Link, giving him a weak smile. "I-I'm fine..."

Midna came out from Lyra's shadow. "Lyra!"

This was Link's final straw. He felt like he failed again. He failed to protect his own daughter. His eyes were wavering, but he was trying to keep it together. "You'll be ok, Lyra. I'm here for you..."

Hayate made it to where they were, worry appeared all over his face. "Oh my god..." Tears started to form in his eyes. "We need to do something! Link, what can we do?!"

Link lowered his eyes as they wandered on Lyra. "Try to weaken Ganondorf even more. But try not to finish him off. I would like to do the final blow personally."

"What will you do?"

"I'm going to try to stop her bleeding. At this rate..." Link didn't want to finish the last of that sentence. "Please... Help Zelda fight him. I'm going to treat Lyra."

Hayate nodded. "Alright." He looked over to Lyra, giving her a small smile. "You're going to be just fine. Just... Hang in there, ok?"

Lyra weakly smiled back. "I will..." She turned to Midna who looked worried about her. "Don't worry, I'll be fine."

Midna dropped her expression, trying to play it off. "Who said I was worried about you?" Lyra smiled at response, knowing well that she was worried about her.

Hayate turned around, going over towards Zelda. He wiped the tears from his eyes, now looking like he was ready to fight. Ganondorf has gone and done it now.

Zelda and Ganondorf were staring each other down. She looked like she was trying to hold it together after witnessing her daughter getting stabbed. "I won't let you take anyone else away! Not this time!"

"Just admit it, Queen Zelda. You're too weak to protect anyone. That's why your father, the champions, and your friends all died. It's because you're not strong enough to protect them."

Zelda felt herself start to shake. "That's not true!"

Hayate placed a hand on her shoulder, making her stop shaking. His eyes weren't on her, but on Ganondorf. "Shut your fucking mouth right now."

Ganondorf smirked. "I'm sorry. I was only bringing up the obvious."

"You've done enough damage to them already, Ganondorf. Today is the day that your life ends right here and now."

Letting out an evil laugh, Ganondorf grinned widely. "Please... You think that you can kill me?! What a jest!"

Hayate turned towards Zelda. "I will help you defeat this guy. We have to give it all we got."

It was such a rare sight to see Hayate looking so serious and so angry. Zelda nodded in response. "Right. Hyrule lies in our hands." Both of them turned towards Ganondorf, readying their weapons.

At the same time, Link stopped Lyra's bleeding and cleaned her wound. He ended up finding wrap bandages in his pocket, wrapping it around her wound. "We'll treat it better later. How are you feeling?"

Lyra nodded once. "A little better, but still in pain."

Link let out a sigh of relief. She was showing no signs of blacking out. "Just lay right there. I promise that this battle will be over."
