What if I told you
I was a king
Lost on a throne
In the heavens dancingI used to rule
My rage filtering the helplessness
Complimenting my queen
But leaving me defenselessEyes roll
Knuckles crack
Head hurts
Broken backWorking nonstop
Into a void of lies
Never caring
As the time fliesTook it all for granted
A sweet affair
Never loved enough
Feelings flareI was at every party
But not in my kingdom
Unprepared for war
I let the lions winAnd oh they roared
Defeaning me
Silencing my thoughts
Only fears they leaveScared of losing
But I lost
Scared of being alone
But abandoned itMy home
Where my family stands
Too frightened to go back
I can't meet the demandsSo I'll just travel this mortal world
The wind on my skin
Sea salt in my hair
I'll just constantly thinDeeply divided
Trapped as this
Never truly knew
Who I would missI never noticed the beauty
Your world holds
There's so much I haven't known
Heartbeats flash before my eyesI've never seen the sunset before
Reds contrasting the impeding darkness
Reminds me of my soul that yearns
For the relationship of lossAs the beam it flashes
Lands on my skin
Rose gold on this earth
Leaving them to win*****
And I walk away, leaving my people who love no more.
