"Millie, can you please explain what's going on here?"
"There's not much to explain really. We slept together. He left. I found out I was pregnant. Didn't tell him because he left. He came back so I told him."
" oh just like that. After god knows how long? Do you expect us to believe you? " Stephanie raises her voice a little and tried to step forward but Ayla places both hands on her forearms to keep her In place. I don't like the way she makes me feel. Small, unimportant, jealous. I try to be calm but the way she's looking down on me makes me speak my mind.
"Who are you?" It comes out more as a scuff that causes everyone to look at me wide eyed. Stephanie tightens her lips and takes in a deep breath.
" His girlfriend."
" Ok great, you know your place. And assuming you didn't ask who I was, you know who I am, right?" I step a bit closer to her trying to push past Mary's grip on my wrist. It works a bit since now I'm standing only inches away.
"Doubt me all you want, what you think of me doesn't matter. You're nobody in my life. You may be important to him, but if you go to him with your doubts . There's no question, you'll be gone and out of his life in a second. Whether your in his life or not, It doesn't effect me"

She looked so sure of herself it pulled a small laugh from me. I caught a glimpse of Sadie and nick who where now standing behind her watching everything go down.
" God you really don't know anything do you? Did you not pay attention to what I said? He left me. The girl he told he'd be with forever and never hurt. The girl who was there for him and always reminded him how amazing he was. The girl he swore up and down he loved, he left. Has he said I love you? Has ever left work early just because he wanted to be with you? Has he ever drag you inside a music shop just to sing you a song that reminded him of you even though you knew each other for only a few days? Has he?"
My tears are rolling fast and hot down my cheeks as my fist are clenched tight sinking my nails into the skin. Her eyes a blown wider than before as she takes in ever word I say.
"You don't know him like I do. You don't know me. Don't you dare even question me again because I won't hesitate. They all may like you and go along with whatever Finn says but not me. I don't care if he's mad at me. Say something else and I will-"

"Millie!" Interrupted by Noah who's looking at me with fear.
" that's enough. She gets it, ok?"
" Noah what are you doing here, where's the rest of the party?"
"I saw on the news that the band was spotted in the hospital and so was Finn's girlfriend. Knowing how my sister is I decided to get here before liz and the guys brought Isabel, Incase there was anything happening. Which I see that there is."
" nothings happening." I say with a growl.
" oh yeah. I can totally see that."
Noah walks over to everyone to give a small hug as I turn around facing my back to everyone and trying to even out my breath to relax.
" Hey you said they're bringing her here?"
" Hey wolfhards, and yeah they should be here in about 10 minutes. Now if you'll excuse me I need to go talk to my sister." He pulls me into the hallway where no one can hear us

" What the fuck was that?"
" What?" I say bitterly and Noah gives me a stern look that quickly fades into a face of worry and concern.
" look Millie, I know this is hard for you ok? It's hard for us too but you don't see us lashing out."
" She doubted me! She said ' how can we be sure you're telling the truth'"

"For someone who didn't want anyone to know, you sure are telling a lot of people." He said with a humorous tone that caused me to punch his arm.

" I'm not going to let her walk all over me."
" Millie you're over reacting again! It's ok for her to be skeptical. I mean I'm kind of shocked no one else is. Listen to her before you lash out again. Look at what happens when you don't."
As much as I believed it myself I didn't think they did. It is my fault Finn here and everyone knows it.
" Millie, you ok?"

" Lizzie called said they're coming up."
" ok."
" hey you ok?"

I walk away from Sadie and wait for the elevator doors to open.

Before I can react my waist is being hugged and I hear a small sniffle. I run my hands through her hair and lean my head down to whisper into her hair.
" it'll be okay baby. Everything will be ok."
" I want daddy."
" I know baby I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." Its all my fault. I tried protecting her but I'm just causing pain.
" hey baby do you want to meet some people."
" No I want daddy."
" you'll like these people Isabel. Your dad wants you to meet them. Is that ok?" She nods but I give her a minute to breath.
" Isabel these are your grandparents. And this is your uncle Nick."
She's hiding behind my legs but I can see she gives them a little wave.
" holy sh- ow"
Mary pinches Nicks arm and walks towards Isabel.
" language nick. Hi Isabel. I'm Mary. Y- you're grandma."
"Do you want to give them a hug Isabel?"
She gives me a nod and walks toward Mary placing her hand on her cheek.
" hi sweetheart."
" Hi grandma"
" god she's the spitting image of him. Right down to the little crooked nose."
Isabel smiles and gives Mary an even tighter hug.
I wish Finn could see this. He'd be so happy , filling up his phone memory with pictures so he'd never forget this moment . I reach to take out my phone but Caleb stops me saying he's already recording to show Finn.
" hey no hug for your grandpa?"
Without a second thought she jumps from Mary's arms to Eric's. The whole thing feels bitter sweet.
" what about me?" Nick says walking up to Eric and taking Isabel into his arms.
The line keeps going until she's sitting on jacks shoulders.
The whole time I try to ignore Stephanie who's sitting across the room. I know I shouldn't have lashed out so I take advantage of the fact that they are all talking to Isabel and walk up to her.
I sit for a moment as neither of us say a word.
" have the doctors said anything?" I look over at her but she just nods and wipes her cheeks.
" Nick said the nurses said they did an MRI and found some bleeding in his brain. They're operating on him now."
I nod and the tension feels heavy once again.
" I'm sorry I doubted you. I just- I was confused and I know I shouldn't have said those things but-"
" I get it. I shouldn't have said the things the way I did but I won't take them back. You're his girl friend and I respect that. But like I said. You'll be gone if you even for a second try to get in the way of him and his daughter."

We've been here for over 3 hours when the doctor finally came out to tell us some news.
"As of now he's ok but we do have to keep monitoring him for the next few days. There were some complications during the surgery that we won't know it's affects until after he wakes up. "
"Complications? What kind of complications?"
"While we were working to stop the bleeding, his brain began to swell up which can cause a numerous amount of side effects.We don't want to say anything for sure right now we'll just wait till after he wakes up but we do want you to be prepared."
Complications.
Finn might never be the same again and it's all my fault.
I didn't mean anything I had said. I'll always want him in my life and that might not happen. All because I didn't tell him he had a daughter. Because I didn't grant him his right of knowing her.
