Sam's POV
I tugged at the ends of my hair before Johnson snapped me out of my angered trance."Dude, you need to tell her. Or get Jack to tell her." Johnson said and I shook my head.
"He won't tell her and she won't believe me if I do." I said and he rolled his eyes.
"Dude this is unhealthy. You're angry because she's spending time with the guy." Nate said and I stood up.
"She's like my little sister; I can't have her spending time with him! I know Ava. She likes feeling alive. She likes the adrenaline he gives her and if he keeps this up, she'll fall for him. Hard." I said and Nate rolled his eyes at me.
"You need to calm down. Ava's a strong girl. She can take care of herself." He said and I sighed.
"She can only be so strong for so long."

Ava's POV
I scrolled through channels constantly, not finding anything worthy of watching. My brother plopped down on the couch, stretching his legs out on my lap, making me roll my eyes and shove them off.
"You okay?" He asked and I nodded with a smile.
"Great" i said and he laughed.
My phone rang loudly from the coffee table. I leaned over and picked it up, smiling when I saw Sam's name.
"Sammy" I said and he laughed.
"Come take a walk with me." He said and I laughed.
I hung up before walking outside, seeing him standing in front of my driveway with khakis, a red t-shirt and a snap back on. He had his hands shoved into his pockets and wore his famous Sammy Smile.
I walked out and smiled at him. "I'm sorry" He said and I raised my eyebrow.
"How come?" I asked and he sighed.
"I've been a bad friend." He said and I sighed.
"Sam you're not a bad friend. I know you feel the need to protect me, I just don't understand why from Jack." I said and he sniffled.
"He'll give you a reason soon enough."
