Following the days after Bucky and I went public, we were almost inseparable. We would meet each other in the mornings and eat breakfast in one of our rooms before spending the day together. I still had a couple more days before I was to go back to work, and as Bucky didn't have to go on any missions, we could spend all of our time together.

He was definitely more touchy with me than he had been, and I didn't know if it was because he was more comfortable in doing so because we knew each other better, or if it was simply because we didn't have to hide from the others any more.

We'd both known that the Avengers  would react differently to us being together, but I honestly think they could have taken it worse.

Tony had taken the role of a possessive father, making sure Bucky and I weren't alone together for too long. We'd be making lunch in the kitchen, and he would appear out of nowhere, barging in between us and talking loudly as if it were completely normal.

Steve was happy, for the most part, which made me happy too. Steve had known Bucky as his pre-war self and having him approve of me as Bucky's soulmate made me feel... good. I knew the Bucky back then was different to the Bucky I knew now, but Steve was still his closest friend, and his approval meant a huge deal to me.

Peter seemed indifferent to Bucky and I being together. I guess because I supported him and Wade, he couldn't judge me too much. The others teased us relentlessly, hinting at acts we hadn't done together yet, and discussing marriage loudly whenever we entered a room.

One morning when the majority of the Avengers were on various missions, and while Bucky was taking a shower, I decided to explore the tower a bit more.

I found myself back up on the roof, where I had first met Bucky. So much had changed while I'd known him, though it really hadn't been that long. I felt complete, and even though I was grieving, I couldn't remember being this happy.

I do wish Mum had been able to meet him though. I know she didn't know about Peter being Spider-Man, and therefore she hadn't met any of the Avengers, except for Tony, but I think she would've liked them. Especially Bucky. He was softly spoken, and was as polite as Dad used to be. He could be funny, serious, kind, clever and even though he didn't entirely understand modern technology, he was making an effort to be able to keep up with me in conversation.

A huge noise dragged me from my thoughts of my parents, and I jumped in surprise, spinning myself around so my back was pushed up against the wall.

A huge rainbow beam of light shot through the sky, twinkling in contrast to the deafening noise that accompanied it. I shielded my face as the sound climaxed, and only drew my hands away when it had stopped.

A towering, broad man with cropped blonde hair and a single eye was stood where the light had been seconds before. I stifled a gasp as I took in his huge, muscled form, his blue eye twinkling in the approaching winter sun, while a golden eyepatch was clasped where his second eye should be.

He wore what looked like a kind of armour, and his hand twitched by his side, his fingers curling as if holding something invisible. I instantly recognised him as Thor, the Norse god who often accompanied the Avengers on missions.

"I, um... I'm Amelie." I stammered, standing up straighter to introduce myself, walking over as he turned to acknowledge me.

He bowed his head, "I am Thor. My lady, do you know where I may find the Avengers?"

I smiled, guiding him over to the door. "They're not in. All on missions, but Bucky's in, if he could help?"

Thor nodded, and stooped to enter the doorway after me. "Barnes is the captains friend, yes?"
