~Bucky's POV~

"Excuse me, Bucky?" I turned to see Peter hovering by the entrance to my bedroom, his hands wrapped around the doorframe. His head poked in with a small smile on his face, his eyes a little lighter than they had been in the weeks surrounding Amelies return.

"You okay?" I put down the copy of Beauty and the Beast I'd bought recently, the spine of the DVD case visible on the shelf I was stood in front of.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just wanted to check where Amelie went." He entered the room and sat down at the head of my bed, crossing his legs neatly.

I looked at him for a second, a little surprised by how comfortable he was to feel safe walking into my room and sitting on my bed. Only months ago Peter was too shy to talk to me and referred to me with a stumbling title of Mr Sergeant Barnes. Amelies chaotic arrival to the Tower put an end to that.

"She went to the physio in the city. Her shoulder still hurts and Shuri helped her find a centre that would help with the aches." I turned my back and carried on studying the shelf in front of me.

"Oh good! She mentioned it earlier in the week but I didn't know if she would actually go or not. She's quite stubborn."

I didn't have to look at Peters face to pick up on the smile that would be on it. "I'm learning that." I replied.

"So what are you doing today?" I slowly turned back to him. His smile wasn't wavering as he sat, patiently waiting for an answer.

I gestured to the few cardboard boxes that were scattered around the room. "Packing my stuff."

Peters face fell, "Why, where are you going?"

"I'm not going anywhere." A faint smile pulled at my lips. "I'm moving to Amelies floor."

Peter grinned, "Yeah I know, she already told me the day you got back from your secret cabin trip."

My eyebrows raised. "So why did you pretend you didn't know?"

He shrugged. "I just wanted to see your reaction. How was that date, by the way?"

"Fine." I didn't really want to discuss the intricacies of that evening with Amelies cousin. He may be getting more confident with me but I wasn't going to divulge those details to anyone, let alone Peter.

I pulled the few remaining books off the shelf and stacked them neatly in the box by my feet, before placing the DVD on top. I folded the edges of the box down to form a lid, and then lifted it to sit on the small pile already forming at the door.

"How much are you taking to Amelie's floor?" Peter asked from his seat on the bed.

I looked around the room. "Only my things. I don't have a lot."

I opened the door to the wardrobe, and began pulling the tops off the hangers. I pulled an empty box over and placed the folded piles of clothes at the bottom.

We stayed in silence for a while after that. Peter leant his back against the wall at the head of the bed, literally twiddling his thumbs as he surveyed my room, whilst I went around gathering each of my belongings.

By the time I reached my desk I was bored of packing, and the sight of my notebooks stacked to the side made me think. I sat down and flicked through one, reading small snatches of paragraphs, smiling as I recognised the short notes I'd made of life before the war. The pages which listed those I'd met during my time as the Winter Soldier made me more hesitant, but I read them anyway.

I shoved them into the top of a box, careful I collected all of them, before burying them underneath a selection of Steve's booklets and pamphlets. I found the now empty bag that I'd kept my notebooks in hidden underneath the desk, and I folded it into the box as well.
