The floorboard creaked quietly as Bucky crept back under the covers, his body causing the mattress to dip under his weight. The light rain that began pouring earlier in the day continued to hit against the window, recently opened a small crack by Bucky on his way back from the bathroom.

The room was slightly stale, both of us hot from the evenings events. Bucky's cologne filled my nostrils, invading my every sense as his cold fingers ran along my side, easily rolling me to face him. My bare skin flared at his touch, my body reacting by instinctively curling into his side.

His hot breath tickled my cheek, his parted lips skimming along my jaw as his hair brushed over my face. He shifted so he lying over me, positioned so he wasn't weighing me down but low enough that his chest grazed mine when he dipped his head to lock our lips together. His arms rested beside my shoulders, holding him upright as I clung onto him.

My fingers found the planes of his back, his muscles rippling and tensing as I traced my nails over it. His left arm caused me to shiver as he adjusted himself, the feeling almost unnaturally cold as his hand slid up my neck to cup my cheek.

The duvet slipped down, exposing us to the chill wind that followed the rain into the room, but apart from a small grunt of recognition in Bucky's throat, we ignored it. His body easily covered mine, and I paid little attention to the wind as his fingers twisted and pulled small locks of my hair. His beard felt longer than usual, scratching a little when he pulled away to leave a shivering trail of kisses down my neck.

With sparkling eyes and an ear splitting grin, Bucky's face darted up to hover directly above mine. In the low light from a lamp in the corner of the room, I saw the marks he'd teasingly left along my neck mirrored on his, and stifled a laugh, biting on my lip to hide the snort that suddenly threatened to escape.

His eyebrows furrowed, looking concerned. "What are you laughing at?"

"You," I whispered, trailing my hand up to skim a thumb along the growing circles of colour. "You didn't want anyone to know-"

"Well yeah," Bucky interrupted, tilting his head to the side. "I didn't exactly want to broadcast this to the others."

I rolled my eyes, "I'm just saying they found out we were soulmates cause you left a mark last time..."

Bucky's eyes grew wide as he realised what I meant. "Do you think you could hide them?"

"Marks on you too, idiot." I mumbled, pushing myself up to plant a feathery kiss to one of the bites.

"Bet I look good in make up," Bucky mumbled, dipping his head back down to hover just below my ear. "Put some of your... make up thing on them."

"Concealer?"

Bucky nodded, burrowing his head further into the crook of my neck, but before I had time to react he blew a loud, wet raspberry. I jumped back, my head hitting the pillows hard but I couldn't escape as Bucky's fingers flicked along my side, evoking loud, gasping laughs as I shuddered beneath him.

The duvet dropped completely to the floor, but I didn't feel cold. Bucky's body covered mine entirely, and as I wrapped my legs around his waist I knew I wouldn't be feeling the cold during the rest of the night.

Bucky's idea of a date had changed over the time I knew him, and as I followed the noises of late morning breakfast preparations I knew this was our best one yet.

Not only had Bucky chosen a cute woodland walk, far away from the main city centre and everyone who lived there, but he'd booked a small cabin nearby. He'd packed bags with clothes and food before we left, and made a surprise dinner that we'd later eaten whilst hidden under blankets in front of a burning fire. It was cosy and intimate, and as the evening wore on we made our way upstairs, cementing our relationship in a new way.
