Bucky's short beard tickled along the side of my neck, waking me up as his lips met the slightly sensitive skin there. I shrugged him away, but his rough, sleepy chuckle made me roll back into his side, snuggling into his open arms.
"I love you," he whispered, as I snuggled closer.
I nudged his chest with my nose, attempting to drift back to sleep. Obviously unimpressed by me ignoring him, Bucky spoke louder, "I love you."
"Mhm." I mumbled, tugging the duvet back up.
"Say it back." He grumbled, "otherwise I'll put my cold feet on your legs."
I bit back a smile as I lifted my own feet to his knees. I heard his shocked gasp, followed by him shoving my shoulder. "You're so mean." He sulked, rolling over.
I sat up, watching his back as he grumbled quietly. I leant over his shoulder, and pressed a kiss to his neck. "I love you Buck."
"Yeah." He mumbled, eyes closing.
"I love you," I sang louder, leaning my body across his so I trapped him to the bed.
"You said already."
I frowned and rolled onto my back, stretching myself across his stomach. He rolled his eyes playfully, before suddenly attacking my sides. I snorted into a fit of giggles, shrieking loudly trying to slap his hands away. "Get off!" I screamed, trying to twist myself away from his grasp.
"Should have just admitted your undying love for me when I asked." He grinned, flipping us so I was stuck to the bed.
I shook my head, a huge smile fixed on my face, "never." I whispered.
"Then so be it." His hand trailed down my side, before he grabbed my foot. I shrieked louder, trying desperately to scramble backwards, hitting the wall behind our bed as he brushed his fingers along the bottom of my foot. "If you say it I'll stop." He grinned.
"I already said it!" I swung my upper body up before grabbing his hair. He twisted back to look at me, a single eyebrow raised in amusement. "I love you."
"I love you too." I whispered, cupping his face and pressing my lips to his. I pulled back quickly, "morning breath". I explained, as his face fell into a frown.
"I don't care."
"The sentiment is sweet but I need to brush my teeth. And I have work in-" I checked my phone that was positioned on the small bedside table. "Half an hour! Why didn't you wake me up? Why didn't my alarm go off? Get out of bed I need to get changed!" I pushed myself away from my loving soulmate, and threw myself towards the closet. By the time I emerged with a handful of clothes, Bucky had left the room.
I got changed in record time, managing to brush my teeth and hair quickly before yanking my clothes on. I managed half a mug of coffee before I gave in to the worries about being late, and went back to our bedroom to find Bucky. Normally he would've been stood waiting, but I assumed he would be getting changed.
The shower was running as I stepped back into our bedroom, the sound audible through the closed door. I checked my phone, a little antsy at the few minutes I had to run down the road to start my shift.
A shrill ringing echoed from the kitchen, causing me to jump wildly. With a hand pressed against my chest to slowly calm the panic that threatened to take over, I found Bucky's phone left abandoned on our table. I bit my lip, wondering if I should answer it or not. Deciding it would be okay to take a message, I picked it up and slid the green button across the screen.
"Hello?"
"Hi," a chirpy female voice replied quickly. "Is this the number for a Mr Bucky Barnes?"
