I blinked quickly, and tried to pull myself up only to find I was trapped to a bed by a thick metal bar around my torso, both ankles and right wrist. My eyes shot up to see several men hovering around me wearing pristine white doctors coats, and a fourth man wearing a black suit.

His gaze was set on me, watching with his lip twisting into a smirk as I squirmed under his gaze. My body ached all over, and as the pounding in my head increased it was all I could do to not burst into tears in front of them.

"Amelie Parker, I finally have the pleasure of meeting you." His voice was deep, sending a chill through my spine that made me shudder. He took slow, measured steps towards me, but stopped far enough away that I had to lift my head at an uncomfortable angle to watch him. "I have been longing for this moment."

I felt a wave of disgust at his words, and grimaced as I continued to stretch my body. Though I couldn't see it from this angle, I knew my stomach would be completely covered with bruises, and by the sharp sting when I turned my head I knew I had a large bump from when the men had hit me. My shoulder carried most of the pain though, even if the men in coats had seemingly wrapped it up, propping it across my body in a sling.

Why would they bother healing my injuries?

"Not speaking are you?"

"Just saving my breath for something more important." I muttered, slowly lifting my left arm to tug at the bars across my body.

The man tutted, and shook his head, stepping closer to me. His fingers grazed across mine as he adjusted my arm and moved it back to rest on my chest. "Don't hurt yourself now, it would ruin what we have planned."

He stood up straight, his body towering over the bed I'd been strapped to. The medical looking people shared glances with one another, but no body spoke as his strange threat rang around the white room. "I can tell you have questions darling, just ask them."

"Don't call me that." I kept my gaze on the metal, examining the join to the bed to see if there was a weak point to wiggle my hand free. I thought I might have had a bit of luck as I'm quite short, but the bars were tight.

"Call you what darling? Now go on, ask me a question." I could sense his twisted smile on the side of my head as I glared in the direction of  the beeping monitor next to my head.

"You're HYDRA." It wasn't a question, but I thought I should clarify.

"Well observed, clever girl." I bristled at his words, but widened my glance to try and see what the three men in coats were so interested in on their computers. "Next question." I glared at the tall man, and noted his dark hair slicked back from his face. I looked away, not wanting to feel as intimidated as I did. "Ask a question, and I begin releasing you Amelie. Don't be difficult."

What was this sick game he was playing? But I had no better choice, and tried to sort through my mind to come up with an acceptable question. "Where am I?"

"Far away from loverboy. Next."

I clenched my jaw, squeezing my eyes shut as my head continued its attack against my body. "Who are you?"

"Head of HYDRA." My head whipped to look at him so quickly I thought I might have given myself whiplash. The man must have approved of my response as he gave me a smile, his eyes flicking over my body, pausing in several places before he licked his lips and returned his eyes back to mine.

"Name?"

"That's classified darling." He walked around the bed, and fiddled with one of the bars around my ankles. A second later the metal lifted, swinging upright to release my leg. "Play the game Amelie, and no one gets hurt."
