Log 32: Green Is My Favorite Color

I've dealt with shades of brown before;
As smooth as a chocolate fountain,
As dark as a cup of black coffee,
And as warm as honey in tea

But the fountain stopped flowing,
The coffee burnt my tongue,
And the honey no longer soothed.

I've dealt with shades of blue before;
As refreshing as a glass of water on a hot day,
As calming as a busy brook,
And as deep as the sea

But there ended up being a drought,
A dam was built,
And I started to drown.

I was pulled out of the dark by strong arms
With a sweet smile
And beautiful eyes.

I'm dealing with shades of green now;
As clear as an open meadow,
As joyful as an evergreen,
And as kind as the forest

I could prance through the meadow all day,
Smell the evergreen pine all night,
And lay on the forest floor forever.
