I got up from my bed and finished packing all of my things into my suitcases. I walked out to say goodbye to Ayesha, Steph, and the kids.
"I guess it's my time to leave. Thank you guys so much for everything. You guys have to come visit me next time you're down in LA." I said dropping my bags and suitcases by the front door. I walked over to the both of them and gave them a huge hug.
"We definitely will. You need to come up more often. We miss you so much." Ayesha told me.
"I know. I will once everything is cleared up. I need to fix myself." I told her.
"We will always be here to help." Steph added.
"Thanks Steph. It means a lot." I said smiling at him.
"Hey you and your boyfriend are coming out to the game tonight right?" He asked me.
"Yeah. Starts at 7:30 right?" I clarified.
"Yeah. You guys sitting courtside?" He asked me.
"Yeah a certain someone got us seats right next to the man himself Joe Lacob." I said laughing at him.
"Good. I expect you to be there early." He said.
"Alright alright. I'll be there." I said playfully rolling my eyes at him.
"Alright be safe and we'll see you tonight."
"Bye guys. See you later okay?" I said giving them a hug. "Say bye to the kids for me okay!"
"We will. Now go pick up Milo." Ayesha said ushering me out the door. I grabbed my bags and began to load them into the trunk of my car and got into the drivers seat connecting my phone to the car. I started the car and looked up to see Steph and Ayesha waiting by the door. I backed up out of the driveway and waved to them before I drove out of the neighborhood. I tapped on the screen to call Milo and when he picked up, I said,
"Milooooo. Are you ready yet? I just left the Curry's house."
"Almost. Do you have extra tickets? Mason and Owen want to come along." He asked.
"Yeah. I thought we were going on a date together." I asked him jokingly.
"Just pretend they don't exist. That's what I do with them." He joked.
"I HEARD THAT." I heard Mason yell in the background.
"Alright I'll be there in like 15 minutes?" I estimated.
"Okay. What do I wear?" He asked me.
"Milo. It's a basketball game. I have some extra jerseys if you need them." I told him.
"No. I'm wearing my Kobe jersey." He told me.
"Oh right you're a Loser, I mean Lakers fan." I joked with him.
"Haha very funny. Mason and Owen need jerseys though." He told me.
"Fine, I'll bring them up when I get there." I told him.
"Bye. Drive safe boo." He said.
"Bye Mi. And please don't call me boo. I feel like a ghost." I laughed.
"Fine babe. Now go drive I want to see you already." He told me.
"Wow pushy. Just kidding byeee." I said hanging up the phone.

"Alright bros. You're coming to the game but you have to wear Warriors jerseys." I told them.
"I don't want to represent the enemy." Owen said.
"Well. I don't have extra merch or shirts sooo looks like you're representing Green and KD." I told them.
"I want KD." They both said in unison.
"Owen. I want to wear KD's Jersey." Mason begged.
"Well. I don't want to wear Draymond's." Owen said pouting his face.
"Here. We'll let Lanie decide then." I said settling the argument.
"That's unfair! She likes Owen more because Lauren is her best friend!" Mason said.
"Mason. What do you not understand about letting Lanie decide. Who knows maybe she has other jerseys. She's basically Steph Curry's cousin." I told them.
"Wait how." Owen asked. "She's like the whitest girl I've ever met."
"They're really close family friends so they consider each other cousins you dweebs." I said shaking my head and rolling my eyes.
"Well. When is she gonna be here." Mason asked.
"She should be here soon." I told them. We sat on the couch on our phones when we heard a knock on the door. I looked through the peephole to see Lanie with all of her bags and some boxes.
"Lanie babe. You should've called me to help." I said to her.
"It's okay this really nice bellboy helped me." She said pushing the luggage cart into the room.
"What? Who is this guy?" I asked letting the jealousy take over me.
"Milo. I'm just kidding." She said patting my cheek as she entered our room. "It's just a guy from high school."
"Did you uh ever like him? Or uh did he ever like you?" I asked her scratching my head.
"Actually, yeah. We got along really well." She said making me nervous. "But, he actually had a crush on you."
"What?" I asked confused.
"He's gay, Mi." She said laughing. "He's just a friend. If anyone has to be worried, it should be me." She said kissing me on the cheek.
"Well. We have a bit of a problem." I told her.
"Uh oh. What happened?" She asked concerned.
"Mason and Owen need jerseys but they keep fighting on whose jersey they get to wear." I said to her.
"Well. I have different jerseys so they can pick. They just can't wear the same one as me." She said setting up the standards and so called 'rules'.
"Mason. Owen. Come here. Lanie has the jerseys." I called as they came running in from the other room.
"Okay. So I have Kev's jersey and Dray's. So, Owen, you take Kevin's and Mason, wear Draymond's." She said smiling at them.
"Yes. Thank you Lanie." Owen said to her giving her a hug.
"Lanieeee." Mason whined.
"Masonnnn." She said imitating him.
"Do you have any other jerseys? I mean, I don't mind representing the Warriors even though I'm a Lakers fan. I just don't exactly like representing Draymond." He said to her pouting. "Do you have a Curry jersey?"
"Well, I do but I'm wearing his since he's my cousin. I have Klay's? You could wear that one?" She asked giving him a look.
"Fine. I'll take it." He said as she grabbed the box that contained that jersey.
"Good. Now Milo, can you show me to your room. I need to get ready. I have no makeup on and my hair is a rat's nest." She asked me.
"I think you should keep this look." I said joking around with her.
"Haha. Very funny. Where's the room." She asked laughing.
"Alright alright. It's here." I said grabbing her bags and leading her into the connecting room. I put her bags on the floor as she locked the door to the other rooms. She looked back at me and sat me on the bed. She climbed onto my lap and said,
"Mi, im really excited to spend the rest of the week with you up here."
"Me too. But, I'm excited to bring you home." I told her.
"But, that's the thing." She began as she climbed off my lap. She pulled me further onto the bed so she could cuddle with me. "Over the course of the last five years, I realized that, home is not a place. It's a person." She said smiling at me.
"Aw. Well look who the corny and cheesy one in the relationship is now." I said poking her in the cheek.
"Oh shut up." She said pushing my face away.
"Well. I'll leave you to get ready?" I said getting up from the bed.
"Okay." She said pouting.
"What's wrong?" I asked her putting my hand on her thigh.
"Who's gonna keep me entertained?" She asked giggling.
"Well, I can stay here as long as you sing for me." I said trying to make a deal with her.
"On that note, I think I might just watch a movie or something on my phone." She said turning around.
"Please, just one song?" I pleaded pouting and giving her puppy dog eyes.
"I'll think about it Milo. Alright I need to shower." She said opening her suitcase to grab her clothes.
"Alright, I'm gonna go play video games with Mason and Owen." I said bending down to give her a kiss.
"Okay, bye babe." She said kissing me before getting up with her clothes to go into the bathroom. I walked out of the room and shut the door to give her some privacy before I went into Owen and Mason's room. I sat down on their bed where they were playing and sighed deeply.
"What's up bro?" Owen asked pausing the game.
"Owen! I was about to get another kill!" Mason yelled. I laughed to myself thinking of the beginning of me and Lanie's relationship.
"I'm just so in love with her." I told them smiling to myself.
"You're fucking whipped bro." Mason said laughing at me.
"Mason shut up. I think it's good for him. I'm happy for you dude. I'm glad she makes you happy." Owen told me.
"Thanks bro. It's just, whenever I'm around her. I can't help but feel happy. Like I was meant to meet her in that elevator." I told them. "Like imagine if I never met her. Like imagine if she let the elevator door close. We probably wouldn't be here."
"That my friend, is called the butterfly effect." Mason said interrupting my thoughts.
"What?" Me and Owen asked simultaneously.
"Yeah, the butterfly effect. One choice can change the course of time and events." He explained still focusing on the screen.
"Bro, how do you know about that." I asked him confused.
"I played a video game called Until Dawn and it was basically based on what choices you made." He explained.
"Wow, video games taught you something." Owen joked around.
"No, but I'm being serious. Sometimes, I wonder what position Lanie would be in, if I never met her." I said seriously.
"Well, the good thing is, she is fine and you and the rest of us will be here to support her and protect her." Owen said patting me on the back. I got up and left their room heading back to me and Lanie's room as I heard Mason yell,
"YES! ANOTHER KILL." I laughed as I walked into the room not remembering Lanie was taking a shower. I walked in and saw her changing as she screamed,
"Oh my god! Milo!" I covered my eyes as she grabbed a towel to cover up.
"Lanie, I am so sorry. I'll uh go leave." I said with my eyes still covered my eyes.
"It's okay. I have my clothes on now." She said as I uncovered my eyes to see her in the jersey with ripped jeans. "At least you didn't see me naked." She said giggling.
"You basically were." I laughed at her.
"I had a bra and panties on!" She said slapping my arm. "And you were the one who entered the room without knocking!"
"I thought you were changing in the bathroom!" I said putting my hands up in defense.
"Well, it's nothing you haven't seen before." She said putting her old clothes in a separate suitcase.
"What?" I asked confused.
"Geez. What is up with guys and girls in their undergarments. It's basically like a girl in their swimsuit." She said shaking her head.
"Well, its a bit different you see." I said beginning to explain.
"It's okay Mi. I don't think I need to hear the explanation." She said laughing as my cheeks grew red in embarrassment.
