witney's pov

I ran down the hallway not knowing where I was going when I went around the corner and hid out of sight. I was breathing heavily when I heard someone running in the same direction. I slipped into the side closet and covered my mouth to block the noise coming from me catching my breath.
"Witney. Where are you. We need to talk. I swear it's not what it looks like." I heard Milo say. I uncovered my mouth to gasp for air when the closet door swung open.
"Milo. You need to get away from me. I can't believe you would do that to Lanie! You said you wouldn't hurt her!" I whisper yelled at him.
"Witney. I swear that's not what happened." He tried telling me.
"Yeah because your super pretty ex girlfriend showed up and you decided you wanted to kiss her!" I said getting angry.
"Witney! I swear I wasn't the one who initiated it." He said again.
"Yeah right Milo. Just admit it you still have feelings for her. You need to tell Lanie. If you don't I will. She deserves someone who isn't going to cheat on her." I said leaving the closet. I notified the producers that we wouldn't be doing the camera blocks for the second routine and they approved since we had already marked it on the dance floor. I walked to my locker and grabbed my dance bag and belongings and walked out to my car. "Milo. You fucked up and you're gonna have a hard time telling her." I said to myself as I drove off into the LA traffic.

lanie's pov

After I saw Witney hurry off the rehearsal set, I went to look for Milo to see what happened. I found him in their rehearsal studio with his head in his hands. He looked like he had been crying a bit.
"Milo?!" I asked dropping my purse and the rest of my things at the door running to his side on the couch. "What's wrong? What happened? Does this have to do with Witney?"
"Wh-What? What did she say??" He asked nervously.
"Nothing. I asked because I saw Witney hurry out and drive off. She looked angry and startled. Like she saw something that shocked her." I told him confused. "Do you know what happened? I mean like you guys were supposed to do your camera block but she told the producers that you guys weren't going to do it? What happened?" I asked again.
"It's nothing. We're uh just both uh stressed out." He said pausing and thinking. "I-I mean everyone is expecting us to win so I guess it's just getting to us." He said wiping away the tears.
"Aw. I love you! I know you guys are gonna do amazing! You're already a winner in my book. You've been a winner." I said kissing his cheek.
"Thanks Lanie. I love you too." He said looking down. I looked at him as combed through his hair with my fingers. I was looking at him when I saw a bit of lipstick or tinted lip balm and glitter on his lips and face. I brushed it off and just thought he was probably playing around with Alan or the glitter got on his face from his costume or because of Witney. I got up and told him I was going to go talk to Alan and Lauren.
"Bye babe!" I said smiling at him.
"Bye Lanie." He said still looking down. My smile quickly flattened out. I was determined to find out what went wrong with Witney and Milo. I was going to find out the truth. But for now, I had to go find out how Lauren and Alan were feeling for tonight's show.

milo's pov

I was pacing back and forth in my dressing room as I waited for Witney to show up so we could head out together. I heard the door open and I spun around to see Witney in the door way.
"Well are you ready?" She asked bitterly.
"Yeah. Are you?" I asked her.
"Of course. Did you tell her yet?" She asked me.
"I'm going to tell her after the show." I explained to her.
"Fine. Come on let's go kill it." She said to me grabbing me and shutting the door behind us. We got ready for the opening number when I saw Lanie in the hallway. She ran towards me in her outfit and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Good luck tonight guys! You're going to kill it!" She said excitedly as she turned to Witney. "Hey wit! Are you feeling better?" She asked.
"Yeah. Definitely. Thanks for asking. I think it was just nerves." Witney said quickly covering up what had happened earlier in the day. The show went by surprisingly quickly and after I went to take a quick shower because of how sweaty I was. Me and Witney had made it past the eliminations and were getting ready to practice for the dance next week. As I showered, I rehearsed what I was gonna say to Lanie. She deserved to know the truth. She deserved to know it from me.
