A/N: quick little note! I will be updating every morning from now on before I leave for school. alrighty hope you enjoy the chapter!

As I drove down the street to get to my new place, I couldn't help but feel guilty. I tried to keep the friendship between me and Milo going, but over time we just became even more distant. I still had his number saved in my phone, not knowing if it was the same if he happened to change it over the years, but I always kept it on speed dial. His contact had a different ringtone for texts, calls, voicemails. I always wanted to know if he was the one giving me notifications. As I started to move my stuff in, I noticed the neighbor across the street staring at me.
"Hey. So are you gonna keep staring at me or are you going to introduce yourself." I yelled across the street.
"Haha yeah just a sec." he yelled back as he looked both ways before jogging across the street. "I'm Alan." He said.
"No way! I know you! You're on Dancing with the Stars!" I said super excited. "My name is Lanie."
"Lanie Adalair?" He confirmed.
"As I live and breathe." I responded smiling. "Hey listen, why don't you come in? I mean I did just move here would be cool to get to know at least one of my neighbors."
"Sure, but I can't really stay long. I gotta go to rehearsal for the show."
"I understand, I gotta go down to Capitol Records." I explained.
"Dang girl, you're signed with them?"
"Yeah, my agent thought it would be good. Plus, I gotta figure out which song I'm performing on the show."
"Right, right. I'm supposed to help Whitney and Lindsay choreograph the number to your song. But, we can't exactly choreograph without the song" he laughed.
"Well any suggestions?" I shot back.
"Well, if possible. What about beautiful people? I really like that one. And plus it would be a good slow song to dance to." He suggested.
"Alright I'll bring it up at the meeting later today." I said walking into the house with my last box of clothing. "Sorry there are a bunch of boxes. Since I just moved in, I brought all of my clothes, makeup, etc. you get the jist"
"I can see that. You have a lot of stuff." He said as he turned to me.
"I have a problem. I'm an impulsive shopper. But I'm working on it and I limit myself more. I just like to be able to be confident in my style."
"I see, i see." He said looking around as he sat on the couch. "So what do you want to know about LA?"
"Well, I guess the recent stuff. I used to come down here a lot. I would come down with my sister about every two weeks. I made a lot of memories in this house right here." I explained. As me and Alan talked, I couldn't help but wonder what Milo was up to these days. My life changed after I left, the paparazzi left me alone when I went to college and were just starting to get back on my tail. "Do you happen to know who is gonna be on this season of the show?" I asked curiously.
"Of course I know. But, Lanie I'm not allowed to tell, you should expect that." He said. "It's crazy how they're keeping everything a secret."
"Yeah, I just, you know what never mind." I stopped myself from talking about Milo. "I'm sorry but I have to go down to my meeting. Maybe we can talk later?" I asked.
"Yeah, if you want, you can come over to my place tonight for dinner. It can be a welcome dinner. I can introduce you to some of my friends?" He asked.
"That sounds awesome" I said walking with him out the door. "I'll see you tonight. Just knock on my door to let me know when I should be there."
"Of course. Good luck with your meeting." He said as I slid into my jeep.
"Bye Alan. Have fun at rehearsal" I said as I drove off. "Maybe things will be better this time around." I said to myself.

milo's pov

"hey wittles! how are you I've missed you!" I said running to give her a hug.
"Milo!!!! ahh I'm so happy you're here. I've missed you tons. I hope you're doing well. It's been so long since we've last talked. I'm happy the season 27 chat is still alive." She said. Her words reminded me of how I haven't talked to Lanie in years.
"Yeah. So what are we getting started with today?" I asked changing the subject.
"Well, I think you're starting off with interviews and I have to meet up with Linds and Alan. We're having a guest performance for the first episode and we have to figure out what the pros are going to dance." She explained.
"Alright see you later have fun." I said giving her a hug as I sat my stuff down and sitting on the couch. I went to my contacts and looked at Lanie's contact. I saw on her Instagram that she graduated and I wanted to text her congratulations.
