Nathan's POV:

"Pizza's here!" Tom yelled from the door. He brought the boxes in and we ate along with soda. While we ate we watched various TV shows. We finished around 8 o'clock.

"We should probably be going home baby, we need to sleep and I'll start moving my things in tomorrow." I said to Kayla. She looked up at me and nodded,

"KayKay." We both stood up. Everyone else was asleep. Well we can't just leave. As if she had read my mind Kayla said,

"Here we'll leave them a note." She said. There was a notepad in her purse that was in the shape of a cartoon white bear's head. A character she had told me was called Korilakkuma. She wrote the note and put her name at the bottom. She handed me the note,

"Is that ok?" She asked. I took the note and read it,

"Dear boys and girlies, Nathan and I left to go home. We didn't want to wake you up seeing as you were asleep. It would have been rude. Nathan and I are coming back to get his things so he can move in." -Kayla

"Brilliant, let's go." I said. I smiled as she taped the note to the counter and we left. I shut the door quietly and locked it with my key. We hopped in Kayla's car and we drove off to our home. I pulled into her-our driveway and parked the car. I stepped out and ran over to Kayla's side and opened her door for her. When she stepped out I grabbed her hand and shut her door. I grabbed her shopping bags from the trunk. We walked up our driveway and she unlocked the door. We walked in and Kayla up her keys in the little glass bowl she had by the door.

Smalls was chilling on the couch. Smalls was the same Korean character tat Kayla's little notepad was, Korilakkuma, accept it was a massive stuffy I had given Kayla as a cute little gift, seeing as she was in love with cute Korean things. She named him Smalls as a cute little joke. Kayla sat down and cuddled Smalls as she whispered things to him. Aww. It was so cute how much of a child she was inside, but she could be serious when she was needed to be. She looked up at me,

"I'm gonna go change for bed." She said. I nodded,

"Don't be too long." I winked. She giggled and skipped off into our bedroom. I slipped off my shirt and folded it before putting in on the couch, Kayla didn't mind if I left clothes around the house as long as I folded them. She was very much OCD about keeping things clean. She always cuts the top of of crisp bags instead of just ripping it so that it looks nice. It was cute, not really annoying. Which was nice. Kayla came out if out bedroom in a light pink tank top, a pair of matching light pink pajama pants with gold and black polka dots and her Korilakkuma slippers. Her phone case was also a 3D case of Korilakkuma. So cute. I patted my lap and she sat down.

I grabbed Smalls and set him in Kayla's lap. She cuddled him and me and I cuddled her tighter. I kissed her forehead. And she sighed. Her phone rang, her ringtone being a cute little song. It vibrated against the both of us and we both laughed. Kayla looked at her caller ID. It said Nana👵😊. She gasped and answered,

"La abuela?" (Grandma?)

I had no idea what she was saying in Spanish, but I'm guessing it was her Nan. I heard muffling on the other line.

"Who is it?" I mouthed to her. She held her finger up to mouth to say 'one minute'. I nodded,

"Un minuto abuela....gracias." She covered the speaker with her hand,

"It's my grandma, she and my grandpa only speak a little English." She whispered. I nodded and smiled. She smiled and returned to the phone,

"Ya estoy de vuelta abuela, ¿cómo usted y papá haciendo?" She asked. There was more muffling. Kayla's eyebrows furrowed,

"O-Ok, ¿qué pasa? C'mon Nana no estoy cinco más .... Puedo manejarlo, ¿qué pasa?"

(O-Ok, what's wrong? C'mon Nana I'm not five anymore....I can handle it, what's wrong?)

More muffling. Kayla's face suddenly turned very pale. She got up from my lap and started pacing and speaking very fast in Spanish,

"¿Qué quieres decir papá tiene cáncer ?! Él es el hombre de setenta cinco años más saludable del planeta! ¿Hubo alguna señal? ¿Notó algo !?"

(What do you mean Papa has cancer?! He's the healthiest seventy-five year old man on the planet! Were there any signs? Did you notice anything!?)

I heard a much louder voice on the other line. Kayla quickly calmed down as her face slowly regained color. Her breathing was returning to normal,

"Abuela Lo sentimos, sólo estoy muy, muy asustado, ha mamá lo había llevado al médico?"

(Sorry grandma, I'm just really really scared, has Mommy taken him to the doctor?) Quieter muffling. This time he kept nodding to herself. I waved her back over to me and she sat down on my lap. She was shaking a lot and was on the verge of crying. She nodded into the phone,

"Ok ... uh-huh, bien así, al menos, que está recibiendo su tratamiento de quimioterapia ... me tengo que ir Nana ... te prometo que voy a visitar pronto, voy a traer Nathan también, ok, te amo demasiado abuela, dice papá que lo amo, bye bye."

(Ok...uh-huh, alright well at least he is getting his chemotherapy...I've got to go Nana...I promise I'll visit soon, I'll bring Nathan too, ok, love you too grandma, tell Papa I love him, bye bye.)

Kayla hung up and squeezed Smalls. She instantly started to cry. I frowned and pulled her to me. She hiccuped, sobbed and cried into my bare chest. I rocked her back and forth as I stroked her hair and squeezed her close. I pulled her away from my chest and brought her face up to meet mine,

"Hey hey hey, look at me, tell me what's wrong baby, tell me." She hiccuped and sniffled. Kayla nodded and took a shaky breath,

"M-my g-g-grandpa has lymphoma c-cancer-r-r." She sobbed . She covered her hands with her face and cried. I shook my head and frowned as I squeezed her close,

"Baby, baby I'm so sorry...Do you want to go visit for Christmas?" I asked. She needed to be with her family. She nodded. I nodded and kissed her forehead,

"Ok, I'll send you on a flight the day before Christmas." I said. She pushed herself away from my chest and looked up at me as she shook her head,

"N-no, you have to come with me! I c-c-an't go b-by myself!" She sobbed. I nodded quickly,

"Ok, we'll go on January first, so we can spend Christmas and New Years Eve here and then New Years Day and the first week of 2013 with your family." I said. She nodded and hugged me again,

"Thank you." She said before she silently cried herself to sleep still cuddling with Smalls. I kissed her forehead before carrying her to our bedroom and tucked herself and I in bed. I soon fell asleep cuddling with Kayla and Smalls.
