A Night to Remember

Nathan's POV:

Once I got up I showered. After I showered Kayla went in after me. I searched through the closet. I finally found my white button up dress shirt and formal black tie. I then looked through the dresser drawers and found my black dress pants.

I dressed myself, then slipped on my black socks and black dress shoes. I rolled my sleeves up to below my elbows and threw my belt on. I grabbed my cologne and spritzed it over me. Next was my hair. I styled it in my usual quiff then sprayed it with my hairspray.

I was ready in about an hour. I was fixing my tie a bit when the doorbell rang. I walked into the living room and opens the door. The boys and girls piled into the living room.

The boys were wearing formal wear and the girls were wearing dresses and heels. The girls had dressed the babies in cute formal baby wear. The twins giggled when they saw me. I smiled and picked both of them up.

We waited on the couch for about 30 minutes while Kayla was getting ready. Then I heard the noise of clanking coming down the stairs. Everyone turned to see Kayla. She looked absolutely gorgeous.

She was wearing a lace cream dress and cram flats with a bow at the toes. Her hair was curled with a cream bow in the back and her makeup was done to perfection. She had a medium sized white tote bag with a bow in the front.

I smiled and stood up. I wrapped my arm around Kayla and kissed her cheek. Kayla smiled then made a confused face at the girls,

"Why aren't you girls wearing flats? Your feet will hurt all night. My mama always told me wear the comfy shoes for walking, put the pumps in your bag." Kayla said. The girls looked at their shoes,

"Oh goodness..well we don't have any-" Kayla cut Kelsie and Nareesha off,

"It's fine girls, I have some," Kayla looked at us before going up the stairs,

"Put the babies in the car please? We'll only be a second." She said politely. I nodded. Max and I put Alexander and Anna-Grace in their car seats. As soon as we got both buckled in the girls all came out in different flat shoes.

We then drove off to the fanciest and most expensive restraint in London:

I planned the night out perfectly. I had everything in place. Yet I told no one about my intentions of what was to happen tonight. I patted my pocket. The key item I needed for tonight. The perfect night for the perfect girl.

I held Kayla's hand through the entire ride.

We pulled up to the parking lot and we parked the cars next to each other. Kayla and I got out of the car and carried the twins inside. The others followed.

We walked up to the front desk. The woman there looked up at us and smiled. I smiled back,

"Sykes party of ten." I said politely. The girl checked the book I front of her and smiled,

"Ah, alrighty let's get you to your table." She said. We followed her to our eight seat table. They brought us two high chairs. I put the covers on the high chairs and helped Kayla set the babies in them so that they were comfortable and safe. The babies were 3 months old and were able to sit in high chairs.

We all took our seats and waited about 3 minutes before our waiter came to us. She smiled and handed us menus,

"Hello, I'm Kelly I'll be your server this evening. Can I start you guys off with something to drink?" She asked politely. We all went around the table:

Kayla: "I'll just have a water thank you."

Nathan: "I'll take a Coke please."

Kelsie: "Um I'll have an iced tea, sweetened please."

Tom: "Uh can I get a Bud Light? I'm not driving tonight."

Max: "I'll have a Bud Light as well."

Jay: "I'll take any kind of beer you have, surprise me."

Nareesha: "I'll have an iced tea please."

Siva: "I'll just take a water with lemon, I'm driving tonight."

Kelly wrote down our drinks and gave us a happy smile,

"Alrighty, I'll get those out in a jiffy!" She said. Everyone smiled and then started to look at the menu. Kayla licked her lips and then bit her bottom one,

"Everything looks amazing...do you want to split something babe? I'm not that hungry." She said. I looked at her and nodded as I smiled. I held her hand over the table and looked at the menu with her,

"How about...the Alfredo pasta?" I asked. Kayla smiled and nodded. We set the menu down as Kayla locked her arms around my left arm,

"I loooooove pasta." She giggled as she leant her head on my shoulder. I chuckled,

"And I loooooove you." I drawled out. We smiled as I leant in and kissed Kayla. A few minutes later Kelly came back with our drinks. She passed them out to the right people and took her notepad out again,

"Ok is everyone ready to order?" She asked. We all looked around the table and it seemed everyone was ready:

Nathan: "My girlfriend and I are going to share the Chicken Alfredo Pasta and a side salad with ranch please."

Kelsie: "I'll take the spaghetti and garlic bread please."

Tom: "I'll have the spaghetti bolognese with a baked potato."

Max: "I'll have the Jersey Burger and fries."

Jay: "I'll take the same thank you."

Nareesha: "I'll take the New York salad please."

Siva: "And I'll take the spaghetti bolognese as well."

She wrote everything down and walked away saying our food would be out shortly.

We sat and talked until our food came. Kayla and I fed each other and the boys fake gagged. We just rolled our eyes and continued. Everyone talked after they finished their meals. The time was coming and I was getting nervous. I knew what she would say but I still had nerves.

I took a deep breath and stood up. Everyone at our table looked up at me. I avoided their gazes as took another breath....it's now or never,

"Excuse me, everyone can I have your attention please?" I asked aloud. Everyone turned themselves toward me. I held my hand out to Kayla and she stood up. I smiled a tears started to come to my eyes,

"This woman is Kayla Katherine Snow...the most beautiful creature I the planet. She's strong, independent, silly....we have two kids. Alexander and Anna-Grace. They love their mummy almost as much as I do...." I said. Kayla started to tear up now,

"Kayla I love you, and I couldn't imagine life without you. I knew...from the day I first saw those beautiful chocolate brown eyes...i knew, that you and I were meant to be together for all eternity." I said as I got down on one knee. Kayla's hands flew to her mouth as I pulled the small, black, velvet box from my pocket.

Gasps and whispers filled the room as I opened the box to expose the rose gold 10 karat engagement ring,

"Kayla will you be my beautiful bride?" I asked. There was silence for a moment,

"Yes.." Kayla whispered. My eyes widened,

"Yes... Yes yes yes yes yes!" Kayla said. I smiled and slipped the ring onto her ring finger. We tightly hugged as clapping and cheers filled the restaurant. We kissed for the first time as and engaged couple.
