Nathan's POV:

I woke up to my alarm on my phone going off. I groaned but turned it off, not wanting to wake up Kayla just yet. I sighed as rubbed my hands over my face, being careful not to move as Kayla was still sleeping on my chest.

It was 6 o'clock in the morning and I had to go to an appointment at the laryngologist with Kayla to see the results of my X-rays. Were having Kelsie and Nareesha watch the babies for the day while we're gone.

Kayla started to stir a bit then opened her big brown eyes and looked up at me,

"Good morning." She whispered. I smiled and kissed her forehead,

"Good morning love, shall we get ready?" I asked. Kayla whined,

"Nooo. Can't we just stay in bed all day?" She asked a she pulled the covers up over her head. I chuckled and shook my head before pulling the covers off of Kayla's head,

"No baby, as much as I'd like to we have to go." I smiled sadly. Kayla huffed,

"Fine." She pouted. I frowned slightly,

"Come now baby, don't be like that. I'll tell you what," I said as we walked ino the bathroom and turned the shower on,

"We'll go to the doctor's, and then I'll take you and the twins out for lunch...sound good?" I asked. Kayla nodded and smiled up at me. I smiled back at her and kissed her cheek. We both showered and got dressed.

~~~~In the Waiting Room~~~~
"Nathan Sykes?" The nurse called. I looked over at Kayla and then at the nurse. I stood up and started walking to the door whilst holding Kayla's hand behind me and carrying Anna. Kayla carried Alexander.
Kayla and I walked into the doctor's room where we were escorted. Dr. Kennedy was sat in a chair. He smiled up at me,
"Ah Mr. Sykes, Ms. Snow. Please have a seat." He said as he gestured to the two chairs in the office across from him. He pulled up a picture of the X-ray done on my vocal chords. Dr. Kennedy sighed and turned to us,
"Well Nathan it looks like you have what's called a vocal hemorrhage." He said. Kayla and I looked at each other and then back at Dr. Kennedy,
"Um, might I ask what a vocal hemorrhage is?" Kayla asked. Dr. Kennedy nodded and grabbed a pen from his scrubs pocket. He drew a circle in red around a lump that was on my right vocal chord,
"A vocal hemorrhage is a blotchy mass of tissue that grows on a vocal cord." Dr. Kennedy explained. He pointed to the red lump,
"This is yours Nathan." He said before sticking his pen back in his scrubs pocket. My face fell, as did Kayla's a bit,
"Is it dangerous to Nathan's voice?" Kayla asked. I was too worried to ask any questions at this point. Dr. Kennedy sighed again before sadly nodding,
"Well yes actually, if we don't do an operation Nathan...you might suffer from loss of vocal range which can and will greatly effect your singing and could quite possibly end your singing career." He explained sadly. Kayla and I were both awfully upset. At 20 my career could be completely over.
After Kayla and I talked to Dr. Kennedy for a little while longer we got Scooter on the phone and settled the surgery dates with Dr. Kennedy over the phone. Luckily my surgery could be after the wedding and there would be no concerts or gigs in between now and my surgery date.
