The four friends were walking down the street to get to school when this group of girls came up to them.
"Well look at this, it's the freak!" The girl in a pink jacket said.
"You'll look like the freak when I'm done with your face!" Grace screamed. The girls never even flinched, just stayed in the same place, eyes locked on Delilah.
"Grace, it's okay," Delilah stated.
"You've truly lost your mind," then the girls walked away. Everybody crowded around Delilah.
"She doesn't know you, don't let her get you down," Hunter said. Hunter and Grace were trying to comfort her, Jack was just adding to the problem.
"Why are you comfort her? It's not like those girls were wrong!"
"Maybe they wouldn't make fun of you if you cared about your appearence."
"Shouldn't she be used to being called crazy? She shouldn't be this upset! Tell her to suck it up and lets go!"
"Jack! Just go ahead of us!" Hunter screamed. Jack rolled his eyes and walked farther ahead of us.
"Don't listen to Jack, he's just-"
"Right. He's just right," Delilah cut off Hunter. Delilah then ran to her favorite spot, a big tree right in the center of the forest, completely forgetting about school. Delilah always loved this spot, it always reminded her of fall no matter what season it was. When it was actually fall, the leaves would fall on her and her would love the sound of the leaves gently falling to the ground. She smiled at the thought but she was soon interrupted by Hunter. He just smiled and took a seat next to her. After a couple minutes of silence, Delilah broke the silence.
"Can I tell you something? Something nobody know?" The truth is Delilah is crazy. She always has been. She would imagine things that weren't really there. Kids being kidnapped off the street, women getting mugged in their own homes, and most of all, a bloody murder scene right under her feet. Delilah found this out when she was seven, she saw a firey car crash on the side of the road and started screaming for someone to call the police. But her mother told her nothing was there. Delilah was confused, she saw the people inside the vehicle begging for help, and slowly dying, but nobody else saw it. Her mother thought Delilah was just playing a joke, as kids do, but it was real to Delilah.
After years of seeing imagines that weren't real, she learned to keep it to herself. She wouldn't freak out when she saw a tragedy unfold in front of her eyes, she would just take a deep breath and walk around what was happening.
"Of course, you can tell me anything," Hunter said.
"I am truly crazy," Hunter gave her a puzzled look. So there the two kids sat as Delilah explained to whole story. She believed he would judge her, that he would take off sprinting in the opposite direction. But instead, he stayed and listened with great amusment. After the story was over, Hunter took her into his arms.
"You'll always be normal to me."
"Thanks Hunter, you're a great friend."
"Yeah, friend," Hunter mumbled under his breath. And that's what they did, all day. Just sat under this big old tree, without saying another word.
A/N i know it's terrible. Like I said, I'm really sorry :/.
