Pilar woke up to the sound of her phone ringing. It was her one of her favorite songs so that meant York has been trying to call her. It's been a week since the breakup. York has not stopped trying to contact her, but it's too soon for Pilar. Pilar has done nothing but lock herself in her room. But yet, even going through heartbreak, Pilar knew this pain was only temperary.

'Okay, you need to get over him' she thought. She finally grabbed the ringing phone off her desk and answered.

"Hello?"

"Oh my gosh, Pilar! You finally answered me! How are you doing? Are you okay?"

"York, I'm doing okay. Can we meet today?"

"I've been waiting to meet with you for a week! Of course we can!" Pilar smiled at how energetic York was to talk.

"Can I see you at Louis' in an hour?" Pilar asked.

"Of course, of course!" Then, York hung up the phone. Pilar got out of bed and jumped into the shower.

After the shower Pilar threw on her makeup and a green shirt with jeans and tennis shoes. She met York in a booth in the far corner of their favorite restauraint in town. Pilar smiled when she saw York sitting in their normal spot. York was wearing her normal style, a yellow t-shirt and jeans. York jumped up and hugged Pilar tight.

"It's so great to see you!"

"You too," Pilar said sitting down. The waiter finally came over.

"Can I get you ladies somethg to drink?"

"I'll take a Sprite," Pilar said.

"I'll have a root bear."

"Okay, I'll be back in a minute," then he left.

"So, tell me, are you really okay?" York asked after he left. Pilar just sighed.

"I'm working on it."

"Good! He was a jerk anyway! I never liked him."

"You didn't know him!"

"I knew enough," they both laughed.

"Here are your drinks," the waiter said setting down the two cups, "and for the beautiful girl," the waiter set down a folded up piece of paper. Then he scampered away. Pilar unfolded the paper and saw a phone number along with the name Daniel.

While Pilar was getting better, Peter was getting worst. He wouldn't eat, he wouldn't sleep, unless he cried himself to sleep, and he wouldn't leave his room. His friend Thomas would call him endlessly, but he never answered. Peter just layed in bed, thinking about how much he messed up. He meant it when he said Pilar was the love of his life. He couldn't imagine her never talking to him again, or worst, her with a different guy. He woke up at noon on a saturday. His pillow was stained with tears and his face was still red from crying. There was a knock at his door.

"Peter?" He prayed it was her, but it wasn't, it was Thomas.

"Go away!"

"Dude, what is up with you? You look terrible."

"Thanks. Look will you just leave me alone?"

"Pete, you are one of the nicest people I have ever met, now you're practically kicking me out, what is up?" Thomas stared at Peter with care in his eyes. Peter finally sat up and explained the whole story.

"Lola sounds like the devil," Thomas said after the story was over.

"Yeah, I know."

"Has Pilar talked to you at all?"

"Haven't heard a single word," Peter said, wiping away a tear.

"You really love her, don't you?" Thomas asked. Peter shook his head yes.

"Well then clean up your act and make a move you stupid! Show her you really care because right now, she thinks you don't care."

"But what if she doesn't want to talk to me?"

"Make her want to. Look, you two are the cutest couple I have ever seen in my life, and I want to see the cutest couple survive! Now go!" Peter took these words to heart. He was going to get Pilar back.

After Peter showered and got cleaned up, he called the only girl who could help, York. It took a couple of calls, but she finally picked up.

"What?" York asked with a hash tone.

"I need you to help me get Pilar back."

"Oh please! No! You broke her heart!"

"It wasn't me! Lola kissed me!"

"But you could've pulled away! She didn't make you enjoy it."

"Look, I screwed up, but I love her. I need her. I'm a wreck without her. Please York, please."

"She finally got over you," Pilar said. Peter was getting desperate.

"I don't want her to, I need her!" There was a long pause on both ends of the phone.

"What do you need me to do?" York asked with regret.

"Get Pilar to come to the school at five."

"Fine," then the phone went dead.

***

"Why?" Pilar asked.

"Because there's something at school I need to get and I don't want to go alone! Please!"

"But it's saturday!"

"It'll be quick I promise," York made a pouty face until Pilar said okay to drive to the school at five.

When they drove to the school, there were hundreds of cars in the parking lot.

"What is going on tonight?" Pilar asked.

"I have no clue, but I won't take long," Pilar said while sending Peter a text saying they were there. They walked into the building and heard everybody crowded into the auditorium.

"Pilar!" The girls heard as the walked passed the crowded auditorium. They turned around and saw Peter standing on stage with a microphone.

"Look Pilar, I love you and I made a mistake. I need you as my girlfriend. I swear, I don't know what to do without you. I've been a wreck without you by my side. I haven't even been eating. I just need you to give me another chance and I want you to see that I love you!" Peter practically screamed. Everybody's eyes turned to Pilar. Everybody was waiting for her response. All attention was on her. You could hear a pin drop. Pilar started breathing heavy. She felt like there was no air in the room. The last thing she remembers was Peter running towards her and everybody's eyes still glued on her. Then, all she saw was black and felt her side slam to the ground.
