"We need to do something about her," Delilah's mom said talking to her husband.
"Well this doesn't help with her-"
"I know, I know, but what can we do?" Delilah's mom said generally concered.
"I don't know, but we have to do something. Our daughter is slipping into depression!"
"I've been listening to you guys for over an hour," Delilah said coming down the stairs. Her parents turned to her, smiling and trying their best to make this seem less awkward. Delilah's hair was matted, her clothes had holes and stains in them, and she looked like she hasn't showered in a week.
"Hi sweetie, haven't seen you in a while," her dad said doing his best to be gentle. Delilah stayed silent and took an apple off the counter.
"I'll be gone all day today, so don't worry, I'm not locking myself in my room again," with this statement, Delilah's parents let out a relief sigh as she walked upstairs to shower and change.

Hunter woke up to the sound of construction outside his window. He opened his eyes and checked his phone.
"Hey son!" It was his dad, "We're still here in Europe! Everything is going fine. Love you and miss you!" His parents said. Hunter didn't reply, for he feared he would say something wrong and his parents would worry.
"Hunter?" In his mind, Delilah woke up in the bed beside him. A single tear formed in his eye, but he swallowed it down.
"You're not real," he said. Fake Delilah walked over to Hunter and felt a hand on his shoulder. It felt so real, like the real, caring, sweet Delilah he knew was there with him. "But I'm real to you," Delilah said, pressing her warm, smooth lips against his. Hunter loved the feeling like Delilah was here, but he stopped, he couldn't take this anymore. Hunter closed his eyes and counted to ten, and when he was done, the mirage of Delilah disappeared.
'Is this what Delilah has to go through every day?' Hunter thought to himself, 'Seeing things that aren't really there?' He remembered the day she told him her secret. The day she sat him down and thought he would think she was crazy, so she hesitated and almost didn't say it. But she trusted him, she knew he would comfort her and tell her she was special. The thought made Hunter depressed, well, more depressed than he already was. He walked into the bathroom and stared into the mirror.
'I can't take this anymore! This is the day, this is the day I face the fear of confronting Delilah. I need to see her. I need to hold her again.'

After Delilah showered, she threw on her jeans and an oversized sweatshirt. She tied her hair into a messy bun and went downstairs to her car. She set the directions to King Newton's hotel on the dashboard and started driving. She was ten miles an hour over the speed limit but she didn't care. If she got pulled over, she would just throw it out the window and keep driving. She didn't care what it would take, she was getting to Hunter the fastest way she could.

Hunter stepped out of the shower and shook his hair. Water drouplets fell on the counter and the mirror. He threw on his black shirt and fresh jeans and put his contacts in. He brushed his teeth and stepped out of the humid bathroom. Then, there were fast, loud knocks on the door that didn't seem to stop. Hunter jumped, praying that it wasn't Drake again. But at this point, he didn't care if it was Drake, he just missed Delilah. The knocks began to get louder and louder. Hunter slowly walked over to the door with a terrified feeling in his stomach. Hunter's expression changed rapidly fast after he looked through the peephole and saw Delilah smiling. He immediantly opened the door and swept Delilah off her feet. He slowly rubbed her back, making sure this wasn't another trick played by his mind. No, no she was real. She was here.
"Hunter!" Delilah screamed as tears of joys ran down her face and dropped on the back of his shirt. Hunter pulled her into the room and spun her around.
"Delilah! You have no idea how much I missed you!" Hunter said finally letting Delilah's feet touch the ground. Hunter was about to lean in for a kiss, but then remember she had no idea he loved her.
"You have no idea how wet your hair is," Delilah said making a little joke. Hunter laughed and pulled her in for another hug.
"This past few weeks have been hell without you."
"Me too. Hunter, will you please come home?"
"Now that I know you're not pissed at me, nothing makes me happier. But, I haven't been to a restaurant in a couple weeks. Do you think we could go get something to eat first?" Hunter asked, still not letting Delilah go.
"Absolutely, I'm starving."
So they packed up Hunter's things and stuffed them in Delilah's car. Then, they drove to a restaurant close to where they live. After they ordered, got their drinks, and starting eating, they started talking about these past weeks. How both of them locked themselves in their rooms and wouldn't talk to anybody. But, both of them were careful not to mention Drake. Especially Hunter, who never told Delilah about the visit he got from Drake.
Soon, they were done eating and they were driving home. Hunter didn't want to leave Delilah, but she seemed exhausted.
Delilah didn't want to leave Hunter, but he seemed like he missed his home.
Once they arrived at Hunter's doorstep, Delilah walked him to the door.
"Do you want to come in?" Hunter said hoping Delilah would say yes.
"It's actually getting late, I should get home," Delilah said making Hunter's face fall.
"Don't be sad, you'll hang out at the fort tomorrow, all day, with Grace and Jack." This caused Hunter to smile.
'Kiss her! Kiss her you stupid!' His mind screamed.
"Delilah?" He asked staring into her beautiful eyes. He leaned in a little bit and her eyes seemed to gleam with hope, but then he pulled back. He let out a sigh, like he couldn't say it, and said, "Sleep well tonight, okay?"
"Okay, you too Hunter," she said. Hunter leaned in again, as if this was his last chance, but then pulled back yet again and closed the door.
Delilah smiled and started walking back to her car. Then, she heard the bushes rustle. She turned her head to see what made that noise, but nothing was there. Delilah tilted her head to the side a little bit to see the side of the bush. Again, nothing was there. Delilah started walking towards the bush and when she reached it, something tall in all black jumped out from behind her and held a cloth to Delilah's nose and mouth while wrapping their other arm around her neck. The cloth smelled of chemicals and soon enough, the whole world turned black as her body seemed to go numb.
