"Pilar?" Peter asked as he answered the phone. Pilar heard crashing plates and the sound of the news cast in the backround. He was in the middle of dinner.
"Can you come to Louis'?" Her voice came out shaky, but she never meant for it to be.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine, just please?" Pilar could tell that he was debating whether he should come or not. The silence over the phone was a loud screaming in her ears. She needed him to come.
"I'll be there in ten minutes," he scuffed. A smile spread widely across her face as she hit the end call button.
"So, is he coming?" Daniel asked. He was still wearing his unifrom, but his shift ended ten minutes ago. He ordered a Pepsi and took a seat next to Pilar, who was on her third cup of water.
"Yeah, he's coming."
"Good." There was a long pause after that. The awkwardnes was thick in the air, almost as if it was choking them.
"Can I ask you something?" Daniel asked.
"Yeah, sure."
"How long have you a Peter been together?" Pilar half laughed as soon as the last word was said. She honestly couldn't remember, they've been together for as long as she could remember.
"Just, a long time. I can't really remember."
"Okay, because he really seems to love you," Daniel said while putting his head down. All Pilar did was blush, because she didn't know how to reply to the jealousy in his voice. Suddenly, the bell rang above the door. Both of them spun their chairs around and saw Peter, about to explode from rage.
"Peter!" Pilar said taking a step towards him, "it's okay, he wants to apologize." She walked over and took her place in Peter's arms as they both stared at Daniel.
"It's true. I'm really sorry. I know I stepped over the line and I just am truly sorry Peter. And Pilar." Peter looked at Pilar as if saying 'should I?' Pilar just nodded her head.
"Fine," he scoffed again, "you're forgiven." Daniel smiled at the words coming out of Peter.
"Well, now that that's settled, I am dying of thirst," Peter said as he kissed Pilar on the head.
"I can fix that," Daniel said as he headed off to the back. And suddenly, the world stopped. Everything just took a moment, almost as if it was a movie somebody hit pause on. Nobody could believe it was happening, actually, nothing came to their minds. Just the fact that they were probably staring death in the eye. But the one thing that everybody did know, they did. They fell to the ground and covered their heads. Daniel was behind the bar and Peter covered Pilar's head as they army crawled under a table. Glass was flying everywhere, like confetti at a parade. Bottles were being hit off the shelves. Chairs were falling left and right. Everything was destroyed in Louis', as a million speeding bullets flew through the every direction possible.
