"Fuck," Hee-yong cursed. Jin shot his little sister a glare.
"Language, Yongie," he chided. Hee-yong rolled her eyes dramatically. All of the boys, excluding Namjoon yelled greetings at the younger Kim sibling and Jimin.
"Yongie, sit by me!" Hoseok said, a bright smile on his face. Hee-yong smiled gently back at the male and made her way over to the empty seat next to him, but not before throwing Jimin an extra hateful glare.
"Here, I ordered your favorite. You too for to get here though so it's probably cold by now," Seokjin informed his sister as he slid over a plate full of Hee-yong's favorite food. She grinned at her brother, the sight of food temporarily easing the anger away from her mind. Jimin had found a seat next to Taehyung and the two were in their own little world discussing only God knows what.
"So, Hee-yong, what took you so long to get here?" Yoongi asked casually, taking a bite of his food. Hee-yong, who was stuffing her face, gulped down the large bite she'd taken and said, "I was busy writing when Jimin came to get me." Jimin smiled sheepishly from his spot and nodded in confirmation. Yoongi gave Hee-yong his gummy smile and said, "You're like my mini me." Hee-yong grinned at Yoongi, glad that they were on such friendly terms. Namjoon's eyes were glued to the girl he once had a small crush on. There were so many questions left unanswered, like how she knew about Areum, why she hadn't contacted him to apologize, why was she acting so casual like nothing happened. Namjoon didn't realize he was glaring at Hee-yong until Jungkook nudged him in the side.
"What crawled up your butt and died, hyung?" He whispered. Namjoon turned his glare to Jungkook and muttered a small 'nothing' before taking a bite of his own food. Hee-yong felt awkward, to say the least. She was used to the company of these boys, she should've felt welcomed and comfortable but with Namjoon there, she felt out of place and guilty. She couldn't help but feel guilty after what she had said to him that day in the hospital, but she couldn't bring herself to apologize either until he did.
"He treated me badly first, he should apologize first," Hee-yong thought to herself. That thought eased her conscience only a tiny bit, though.
"What have you all been up to?" Hee-yong asked the group. They were quite a busy group of boys, each of them having entirely different schedules due to their individual school and work loads, so it wasn't always easy for them to get together as a group like this.
"Work, work, work and sleep," Yoongi said. Hee-yong admired the boy immensely, though she wouldn't care to admit it. Yoongi worked for hours and hours on end until he just can't go anymore, and then finally gets rest. Hee-yong admired Yoongi's determination.
"School is getting hard, noona. There's so much homework but I'm almost done," Jungkook said. He was in his junior year of university and Hee-yong could only imagine the large work load that would put on him.
"Just keep going, bunny boy," Hee-yong encouraged the younger male. The rest of the boys have similar responses, the only one not responding however, was Namjoon and Jin noticed it.
"What about you, Joon? Hee-yong wants to know what you've been up to, as well," Jin said. Hee-yong sent a fierce glare at her brother, causing him to grimace slightly. Namjoon cleared his throat and looked directly at Hee-yong.
"If Hee-yong wants me to answer her questions, she has to answer mine first," Namjoon said. Hee-yong and Namjoon engaged in a glare-off as those words left his lips. She had never found herself to dislike a person as much as she did in that moment.
"I'm leaving," Hee-yong announced after a few minutes of silent tension. She reached into her pocket and placed the money she owed onto the table. Jimin, Yoongi and Jin all jumped up as if to follow Hee-yong but she held up a hand to stop them.
"I want to be alone, I have things to do," she said. Jimin made as if he was going to protest but Hee-yong stopped him with her fierce gaze. The three boys sat back down and continued eating. Hee-yong sent them her farewells before she exited the restaurant, a sigh escaping her throat.
"That was awkward," she said to herself.Back at the table, the chatter gradually went back to normal. Everyone was laughing and teasing one another as they ate, not caring who was annoyed by their noise level. Namjoon finished his plate and excused himself to the bathroom. He had a plan, he wasn't sure if it would work but it was a start, at least. He quickly made sure the boys weren't looking and slipped out of the entrance of the restaurant, hastily making his way to Hee-yong's apartment. He didn't realize it before but it finally clicked in his brain. Hee-yong lived at the Choi-Mong apartment building, the same place Areum had once lived. Maybe that was how she knew about Areum, Namjoon thought. Namjoon had never been to Areum's apartment, she had a thing for having her own private space and Namjoon respected that. He was lucky that the Choi-Mong wasn't far from the restaurant, because his energy was slowly running out the more he walked. When he finally made it to the large building, he leaned against it to catch his breath. He had never been so bad that he couldn't even walk. Namjoon shook his head and pushed himself off the wall before he walked into the building. He slowly made his way to the receptionist.
"Ma'am, what apartment number is Kim Hee-yong?" He asked. The lady looked up the number and recited it to Namjoon.
"Miss Kim also has twenty-four seven access to the rooftop, if she isn't in her room, you can check there," the receptionist added. Namjoon thanked her and made his way to the elevator. The hall was empty on Hee-yong's floor, only three doors in total in the hall, one of which was labeled rooftop. Namjoon found the room with Hee-yong's number on it and knocked lightly. He waited for several minutes without receiving an answer so he knocked a few more times. He huffed loudly and mumbled under his breath before walking down the hallway and pulling open the door to the rooftop. He gulped at the sight of the staircase, and shook his head.
"Now or never," he said to himself. Namjoon cautiously walked up the stairs, making sure to not trip or overwork his body. When he finally made it to the rooftop, he gasped at the sight before him. Yes, there were a billion beautiful flowers and a cozy looking swing, but the thing that held his attention was Hee-yong, who stood on the ledge of the roof, looking down on the city below her.
"Hee-yong!" Namjoon screamed.
