I felt myself being shaken. I jolted up, not even remembering falling asleep. I hurriedly jumped out of the car, not sure how long Kiwi had been shaking me and assuming I was holding Jimmy up. Kiwi ran up the lawn steps like he was in a rush to get inside, while I trailed behind him like a snail.
K: "Come on, Babe. I wanna get out of this suit."
T: "...I don't feel good. My appendix probably ruptured, so I should just go right to bed."
K: "Nonsense. I have some knives, rusty scissors and Band-Aids in my room. I watch the health channel like every day, I know how to doctor."
He gave me an innocent smile, unlocking the door and starting inside without me.

I followed him inside, seeing the house was dark and his family hadn't returned home from the forum yet

I followed him inside, seeing the house was dark and his family hadn't returned home from the forum yet. I followed him to his room, where he flipped the lights and TV on and immediately started stripping the suit off. I thought about how nervous I was to be alone with him but how I wouldn't give up being alone with him for anything.

He didn't touch me or come near me after he undressed down to his black briefs. He just got in bed and started opening his cards, while shoving animal crackers in his mouth, from the bag on his nightstand. He called them drag queen animal crackers because they were "dressed up" in pink frosting and sprinkles. I got changed into my pajama pants and a cami. I didn't want him to see me sleeping in my bra and underwear as per usual, so it didn't give him the idea I was ready for a sexy time.

I couldn't believe he wasn't bringing up the kiss. Maybe that's all he wanted this whole time; just one kiss and he was satisfied. I would've done it sooner if I knew once and done would be the end of my torment. I started to relax, thinking if he was going to bring it up or bring up any serious conversation about us, he would've by now, so I figured I was off the hook for at least the night and it would be like old times. I hopped in bed and watched as he started opening his graduation cards. Bills poured out of the cards my family gave him, looking like I could pay a second college tuition. I lunged forward and grabbed a handful to count it, in a jealous frenzy.

My counting was slowed when the text tone of his phone started going off over and over again, with texts from people asking him to hang out; making it hard to concentrate.
T: "Are you gonna answer them? You don't have to pretend to be anyone's friend anymore."
K: "I don't know yet, I might answer a select few. I'm not trying to be a hermit....unless you want me all to yourself."
T: "Shut up, I don't know why you think I'm so possessive. I never told you not to talk to your friends; you just assumed I would."

My Patti and Daddy Dan had given him a thousand dollars. I picked up the card they'd given him and saw Patti's handwriting scrawled across the bottom.
Congratulations, Kiwi! We had our doubts there for a minute but you actually graduated! Don't spend any of this on Taylor or let her bully you into giving her any. We love you very much, Patti and Dan.
I saw another card from Michelle and Joe, with a check for five hundred in it and another love message, singing his praises.
