The Best and the Hardest Thing

After graduation, caseys parents took us out for dinner as we had two hours to spare before heading to prom. We decided to go to a cute small italian restaurant. As we sat waiting for our food, collete and caseys older sister Carlie -who had flown in from Australia in the previous week to attend the graduation- were gawping at my engagement ring. It was so beautiful just a movement of my finger and rainbows could be seen on the Walls, which really amused Lily.

Once everyone was full, James- caseys dad- paid the bill and we all piled in our cars and drove home, where casey and I ran to shower, eager to get dressed fast, before our bestfriends and their dates arrived ready for pictures and the limo. I with the help from casey curled my hair and tied it into a bun. I Decided to go for a natural makeup look, so I used colours that complemented my African skin.

It was so amazing how well my ring went against the contrast of my dress.

"hey babe, got you a little something- well two things actually" casey whispered in my ear as he hugged my waist.

"haven't you got me enough?" I asked pointing at my engagement ring.

"well, these would go perfect with your dress" he pulled out a tiffany box from his suit jacket and a Yellow corsage from his sleeve as if it were a magic trick.

"oh babe it's beautiful" I gushed as he placed the silver heart necklace round my chest which had 'C+D' engraved in the centre and the corsage on my wrist which matched perfectly with his tie against his White shirt. We stood in the bedroom for what seemed like ten minutes making out until we heard the bell ring and i put on a pair of silver ted baker heels. Before we headed down the stairs into the foyer were our friends stood waiting.

" wow!" everyone gasped in unison. Collete began to cry as she enveloped us in a hug.

" my baby is growing up" she sobbed joyfully.

We took a few pictures with the photographers before piling into the limo and heading to prom.

Once casey and I entered the room everyone stopped and looked us before clapping and cheering.

"damn dana, cant believe your off the Market" some guys shouted and I flashed them my engagement ring. All the girls rushed over to see it and told me how lucky I was to have the whole package- a handsome fiancé and a baby on the way. After a while things died down and casey and I took to the stage for our first dance as an engaged couple. I could see jade at the other end of the hall glaring but I didn't let her bother me, because I was happy.

Nearing the end of the night they announced the prom king and queen, casey being the fittest guy in the school was elected prom king and jade was elected prom queen but I didn't care cos I knew casey only had eyes for me.

Once casey got off the stage, he placed his crown on me. next thing I knew, my legs were buckling and I was on the floor covered in what was Jades punch, I gave her a snarky look before trying to get up, my left leg was in so much pain and I couldn't move my ankle.

"ouchhh" I groaned. Casey picked me up and I slung my hand around his neck.

"do you get a kick out of hurting pregnant women, huh?" casey growled at her

Jade looked away sheepishly, everyone began to glare at her, just as Nathalie picked up caseys crown and placed it on his head and danielle took the hint and grabbed jades out of her hair with out any consideration that she was pulling her hair in the process, to which jade began to retaliate. Finally Erica being the bad ass she was, slapped jade right across the face, making an echo in the hall; everyone began giggling. I kept a straight face but I couldn't hold it in any longer so I began to giggle as well. Casey joined in before asking his mate Matt to drive us to the emergency room. Gosh I loved my girls.

It turned out I had just sprained my ankle so I was given some pain relief tablets. The. I had an ultrasound to check that the baby was still okay, the doctor was happy and said "everything seems just dandy"
