It had been two weeks since the dinner night with Jade and Chris. I hadn’t seen Casey for what seemed like a life time. I mean sure he dropped by and saw picked up suits for work and to give Jayden a cuddle, but that was that. I didn’t understand how a day spent full of fun and enjoyment could have turned so sour. He begged for a paternity test but I said no, Jayden was his if you looked at them together you would be able to tell. If he refused to believe me then he would live life not knowing his son. Never the less, I still ordered a DNA test just in case as I didn’t wasn’t to lose Casey.
I woke up on Monday morning full of resentment, why had I even kissed Chris at the sleepover night earlier that year? I made a vow; I would make Casey believe me because I knew I had never slept with Chris. I wasn’t that type of girl. Before I got together with Casey I was that girl who would fall for anything with a pulse and but I never slept with them. I knew Casey has always thought that I wasn’t virgin when we first got together, but the truth was I was a virgin. He was my first and only. I just needed him to believe me on that.
Jayden’s cries brought me back to reality.
“Hey baby” I soothed, his big brown eyes stared at me with so much distress I wondered if he knew what was happening. His lips tightly locked just like Casey’s when he tries hard not to shed a tear as we watch the notebook.
I fed Jayden, had a shower and ate before packing Jayden a diaper bag and heading to Danielle’s. I knew she would be the only person to help me, after all Chris was her boyfriend. But this didn’t mean I forgave her, for what she did.

I parked my car round the corner from the street where Danielle lived. I grabbed my purse and took Jayden out of his car seat and placed him in his stroller. I locked the doors and walked in the direction of the house which id spent countless of times at with my best friends that I hardly ever spoke to.
I took a deep breath before ringing the bell.
“Coming” I heard someone shout. Jayden lay still snoring quietly, oh how I wished I was in his position, unknowing to the world.
“Damn, you do take your bloody time running to the store, I have no idea how she copes with you…”Danielle groaned before pulling open the door and looking shy to see me “Oh, Dana, it’s you…how’ve you been?”
“How have I been?” I shouted “let’s see, I’m a seventeen year old mom, married and my husband has walked out on me because of your psycho ex, and you wanna know how I feel? Well I feel like shit” I began to choke up and cry and she opened her arms and gave me a hug which made me cry harder.
“Shhh, shhh” she soothed patting my back as I cried on her shoulder.
Just then Jayden began to stir, I pushed his stroller in a forward and backwards motion hoping he would sleep for a little longer, but instead he lay there wide eyed.
“Is that your little boy Max?” Danielle piped. I never told her we changed the name and I began to feel guilty.
“No, his name is Jayden” I answered softly as I picked him up and cradled him in my arms. He began to gurgle and make funny noises which I guessed it meant he was happy.
We walked into the living room and I sat down with Jayden still in my arms filling Danielle on what happened at the dinner with jade two weeks before.
“…Casey then took his bags and left” I finished
“Chris really said that?” she asked shocked. I nodded wiping away the tears with the sleeve of my t-shirt.
“I swear, Danielle. I have never ever slept with him” I cried even more so Danielle took a sleeping Jayden from my arms. “I’ve tried telling Casey but I don’t think he believes me.
