I looked around me, police officers walking in, out and around. Alcoholics yelling absurd things slurring trying to steady themselves. Prostitutes parading around in cuffs in short tight skirts and crop tops which did nothing for their modesty.
"Dana" Casey called
I looked up at him towering over me with who seemed to be a detective.

"Hi, um sorry" I muttered returning to reality, as I tried to stand my heavily pregnant self with Casey's help. Dabbing at my eyes as yet more tears fell.

"I'm detective Richardson" said the tall well built man as he held out his caramel complexion hand for me to shake.
"Dana" I said putting my hand out to shake his.
"Can we go to a room to discuss this more privately" he asked. Just as a junkie walked passed blowing chunks in the bin by the entrance.
We nodded our heads as we followed on behind him through the barriers.

As we walked passed interrogation rooms I couldn't help but look at my reflection in the glass walls. My face was streaked with tears, eyes bloodshot, nose running. A sight for sore eyes for sure.

We entered a room, clearly marked on the door was the number 4. Reminding me Jayden's birthday is quickly approaching and we have no clue where he is. It's then I crumbled but Casey's strong hands were there to catch me. I turned to him and burrowed my head into his neck crying for my son.

Casey began to soothe me placing kisses in my hair. As I pulled away I could see he was also crying. I leaned back in our foreheads touching and kissed his eyes as I wiped his tears with my thumbs.

I then turned and faced the detective pulling Casey along to sit on the two chairs located by a small desk.

"Okay, I understand this is a really emotional time for both of you not the least for you Dana as you're also heavily pregnant but I ensure you we'll find your son" said the detective

I nodded patting the tears away. Squeezing Casey's hand with the other hand.

We sat and went over what had occurred during the day from the man in the park to the odd looking car outside our house. Obviously missing out the rendezvous at the office. To the moment we arrived at the crèche and then to the station.

"Okay thank you for your cooperation, we shall look in to all of this and gather all CCTV evidence we can" he said standing up shaking Casey's hand.

We nodded appreciatively.

"Promise me one thing detective, please find my son" Casey said trying to compose himself.
The detective gave him a hopeful smile and nodded his head. Before showing us out.

By the time we left the station it was nearly 10pm. After we had given our statements, fingerprints, ID and what nots.

"Babe you need to eat" Casey said walking into Jayden's room where I was sitting on the rocking chair he had as an infant that I spent endless nights on feeding him, soothing him. Tending to his every need. It had been 10days and still nothing, I spent most of my time in his room when I wasn't peeing, taking my prenatals and having a shower.

"No" I whispered
"What about the baby?" He asked. I took a deep long breath and released it in one big sigh.
"What about the baby" I replied
"Look, I know how you feel, I want him back too but you don't need to punish another child" he stressed as he reached out to grab my hand.
"So that's what you think I'm doing huh?! Punishing my kids?" I retorted angrily pulling my hand away.
"You know I didn't mean that babe...look just have something to eat, cereal,a chocolate bar, anything"
"No, get out" I said through gritted teeth. He sighed before kissing my forehead and placing the plate of pasta i hadn't noticed on the table beside me.

The longer Jayden was away, the more anxious I got. The more Casey and I began to bicker. It was all starting to put a strain on our relationship.

I sat for 20 minutes just thinking about my children and what I wanted to achieve, until the smell of pasta got too enticing and I couldn't hold off taking a bite. one bite turned into another until I finished it all. I grabbed the water bottle beside me and took a big chug. I needed to keep hydrated for this baby.

After a while Casey came back in and smiled when he saw I had finished the plate. In one swift motion he lifted me so I could sit on his lap and lie on him as she stroked my belly feeling our second born moving.

"Baby, we will find him" he said breaking the silence.
"Promise?" I asked looking into his eyes
"I promise" he said looking into my eyes before placing a kiss to my lips which I returned before returning to lying on his chest.

As we lay there I began to doze off to sleep but the shrilling tone of Casey's phone woke me up. Looking out the window I could tell it was late for sure. The moon was out. Full and bright.

"Okay, we're on our way" Casey said
"What's going on case?" I asked
"We need to go down to the station" he said looking nervous.
"Is something wrong?" I asked getting into a panic standing up fixing my shirt.
"I don't know babe" he replied truthfully
"We just need to hope and pray" he continued after a moment of silence.

A/N;

I'm sooo sorry I've taken so long to update. I've been so busy since I became I mum. Let me tell you, babies are not easy! Sure they're cute and precious but there's poo and sick and lots of it. At the end of the day you just have to be grateful right?

Anyway I'm hoping to finish this story soon. Not many chapters left. I don't want to promise anything I can't guarantee. Well I better go to bed its almost 4am in my end and I know i'll be up in an hour to change another explosive diaper.

Night night guys thanks for all your support, kind words and love. Remember to comment and vote 😘😘❤
