It didn't take long for Hoseok to arrive. You were still sitting against the tree when he got to you, only a lot less hysterical after he calmed you down over the phone.
"Alright, listen to me (Y/n)," he had said immediately after your plea for help. "I need you to try and control your breathing. Can you do that? Breathe in for three seconds, hold for three, and exhale. I'm leaving my house right now and I'll be there as soon as I can. Unfortunately, I'm gonna have to hang up when I'm driving but you're going to see me real soon so don't panic. Keep working on your breathing and I'll be there before you know it."
"Don't leave me," you whispered.
"I would never. I just don't want to get pulled over and leave you waiting longer than necessary, okay? I'll see you soon."
You looked up at the brunette and instantly felt your eyes filling with more tears. He knelt down next to you, eyes filled with sadness and a look of devastation on his face.
"Hey, I'm here now. What do you want me to do?" he asked you softly.
"Take me home," you whimpered. "Please."
"Of course, angel. Is it okay if I help you up?"
The tears started overflowing and you frantically shook your head. Despite knowing it was Hoseok, you couldn't bear the thought of being touched right now. Not until you were fully calmed down.
"That's okay, that's okay. Shh, I won't touch you, alright? I'm gonna need you to stand up, though, so I can take you to your apartment," Hoseok said gently.
Swallowing the lump in your throat, you nodded before slowly getting to your feet. It took a lot of supporting from the tree but somehow you were managing to stand. Hoseok was keeping a safe distance away, not too close but close enough in case you suddenly needed his help.
"You're okay to walk to the car?" he checked.
Instead of answering, you started walking slowly towards the parking lot. The sooner you got to the car, the sooner you'd get home--that's what was motivating you to move at this point. Hoseok was walking slightly ahead of you to lead the way to his car. You recognized the vehicle and were happy to see that you wouldn't have to walk for much longer.
"Do you want to get in the backseat?" the brunette asked when you reached his car.
You nodded and got in as Hoseok went around to the driver's side. Resting your head against the window, you hugged yourself tightly and brought your feet up on the seat, curling up in the corner. Hoseok started the car and turned on the radio to a comfortable volume level. He switched the station to one that was playing a slower song before putting the car in reverse and getting out of his parking spot.
The car ride was silent, excluding the music from the radio. With each second that passed by you felt yourself slowly becoming more relaxed. Your heart slowed considerably and it no longer felt like the organ was gonna come up your throat. Your breathing was normal for the most part, save for a few hiccups every now and then. The trembling had almost stopped and you no longer felt like you were about to burst into tears. Distantly, you noticed the car had come to a stop and the engine was no longer on.
"We're here," Hoseok announced quietly.
You opened the door and made your way inside of the apartment complex, Hoseok only a few steps behind. Normally you would take the elevator up to your floor but being in an enclosed space wasn't that appealing to you at the moment. The stairs would have to do. You were still feeling a bit weak in the knees but you had enough strength to carry yourself up to the fourth floor. When you finally got to your apartment, you unlocked the door but didn't go inside. Slowly, you turned around to face Hoseok. You were about to open your mouth but the brunette beat you to it.
