Taking a deep breath in to ease your nerves, you opened the entrance doors of Hope on the Street and walked straight up to the receptionist desk. Hoseok's summer-camp-lesson-thing ended awhile ago but you had wanted to wait until all the children had left. If you walked in and the kids were still here some of them might recognize you and blow your cover. After all, this was a surprise for Hoseok.
"Hi, is Hoseok here?" you asked Nikki, who was sitting behind the desk.
She nodded and pointed to the dance room at the end of the hall. "He should be packing up to go home."
"Thanks."
You took slow, tentative steps to the room at the end of the hall, your heart drumming in your chest. Despite the fact you felt like you might piss yourself, you knew this needed to get done. You wouldn't run away from this. You pulled open the sliding glass door only to stumble back when Hoseok was standing right in front of you. It seemed he had been just about to leave the room. His eyes widened considerably and he tugged on the strap of the bag slung over his shoulder.
"(Y/n)? What're you doing here?" he asked, puzzled.
"I-I was wondering if you had any plans for tonight," you stammered. "Thought maybe we could grab something to eat."
"Oh." The brunette rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly and looked at the ground, refusing to look into your eyes. Your heart sank and you wanted to slap yourself for assuming Hoseok wouldn't be busy tonight.
"Shit, I'm sorry. I should've talked to you before showing up unannounced," you apologized, still continuing to mentally curse yourself.
"No, no," Hoseok said hurriedly. He smiled warmly and stepped out of the dance room, now standing next to you in the hall. "I'd love to go out with you. I just wasn't expecting this so I already brought out food for dinner at home. Plus, I'm in my dance clothes and probably reek of sweat so I don't want to embarrass you when we're out eating."
"Oh." You couldn't prevent a sigh of relief from escaping, hope returning to your eyes. "We can stop by your house then. It's not like I'm dying to eat right this very second. You can go shower and put your food away and then we'll head out."
"Perfect. Then it's a date," Hoseok grinned, walking past you and missing the blush that tinted your cheeks pink.
You followed Hoseok out of the studio and to his car, walking a few steps behind him. You got past asking him to dinner, but that was the easy part, despite what your heart might think.
"My house isn't too far from the studio so the drive shouldn't be too long," Hoseok commented when you two got in his car. "Where were you planning to go for dinner though?"
"You can pick. You had a long day of dancing so choose your favourite place for food," you replied.
"There's a place that makes really good kimchi on the way to my house. It kinda sucks that I need to go home first because it would be faster to go straight there but I've got a reputation to uphold so I can't go walking in smelling of B.O."
"You don't smell bad," you reassured. "Not that bad, at least."
"You wanna give me a hug? Maybe you'll change your mind after that," Hoseok joked.
You shook your head with a smile, turning to watch out the window. The drive was pretty quiet after that but it wasn't long, just as Hoseok had said. Ten minutes later you were parked outside a small bungalow. Hoseok had given you the choice to either wait in the car or come in. Naturally, being curious about how his home looked inside, you decided to wait inside the house.
