You weren't expecting things to go downhill right from the start. Normally the lessons start off smoothly, rarely ending with you momentarily regretting your decision to go through with them. But already you were wishing you could go back in time and decline Hoseok's request to see each other. If only you could've lied and said you were busy.

He had entered the library and strolled up to the desk you were waiting behind, Mei sitting to your left just staring at her phone. Or so you thought. She had been on her phone but it seems her "hot guy" radar went off and she suddenly glued herself to your side. You were prepared to ignore her and leave with Hoseok but of course the brunette had to be a gentleman. Of course he had to be thoughtful, always looking out for others and not wanting them to feel left out.

"Do you want to join us?"

There was no turning back after those words left his lips. No taking them back, playing it off as a joke, or pretending it was directed at someone else, some imaginary person only Hoseok could see behind you and your short-haired friend. No, Mei had already packed all her shit up. She was ready to go and there was no stopping her now. You'd think Hoseok asked her out on a date or something, and in a way maybe that's what it was for her. She admitted to you numerous times that she believes the lessons mean more to you than you let on. She likes to think you see them as dates even though you've told her multiple times there are no hidden feelings you have.

"Just you wait. One day your answers will change. You'll start blushing and you'll stutter out a half-ass answer and I'll know you've finally fallen," she would always say afterwards.

You had given Hoseok an exasperated stare which he returned with an apologetic grin. You knew he meant well but you were not ready to bring Mei along. In fact, you had been planning on keeping these lessons exclusive, even from Yoongi. It seems that was gonna change starting today. As annoying as it was, however, you weren't gonna hold this against the brunette. You'd rather him be too generous and nice to Mei than have him constantly cuss her out, or worse.

"Just ignore anything inappropriate that comes out of her mouth. Even if we're in a public space she's not afraid to speak her mind, unfortunately. I don't know if you'll be able to handle that but I certainly won't so I'd appreciate if you don't indulge her in that way," you whispered to Hoseok as the three of you were walking down the street. Mei was skipping ahead of you guys, not close enough to hear your conversation but you didn't want to risk anything.

"From what I've seen from her this far I'm not too surprised," the brunette smiled. "I'm honestly amazed she hasn't tried to rip my pants off yet."

"Luckily she knows her limits, to an extent at least. She's a bit of a lunatic but she's not a psychopath."

"Isn't that the same thing?" Hoseok asked.

"Yes."

"Then what the hell are you talking about? You're contradicting yourself now, are you sure you don't want me to try and convince Mei to leave?"

"I'm preparing you for what's to come. Mei's gonna say a lot of things that'll either confuse the hell outta you or leave you wondering how the fuck she hasn't been sent to a mental hospital yet," you replied.

"Do you guys always talk about each other this way or is it just you?"

"Again, we're close friends. I'm not like this with other people. But to answer your question it's just me. Mei actually acknowledges the fact that she can be pretty weird so she lets me say this kinda stuff. Otherwise she would've told me to cut it out a long time ago," you answered.
