Chapter 43 Pinkie Promise

Emiko's POV

Sunny and Kid's ship started jerked a little and started to ride with the waves.

"Emiko-chan~! Here's some strawberries for you~!" Sanji sang, handing me a plate of red, ripe-looking strawberries with a coat of sugar on it.

"Thank you Sanji-kun." I said, eating the strawberries. "You're welcome Emiko-chwan." He smiled.

I ate the strawberries, it was so finger-licking good.

"I wanna try one!" Luffy exclaimed, taking one from my plate. I looked at him while he moaned out, "This is so delicious!"

I giggled at him, what a silly boy.

"Oi Emiko, I want to talk to you because of something." A voice I didn't want to hear appeared.

I passed Luffy my plate and walked away. "Emiko-chan, where are you going?" Luffy asked.

"Somewhere, don't follow me." I replied, walking from the man I didn't want to talk to who was Kid.

I went behind Sunny and looked behind my shoulder, Kid was still following me.

"I just want talk." He said.

Footsteps by him went faster and faster. Eventually, he caught up with me and grabbed my wrist, preventing me from going any further.

"I want to talk." He said, spinning my around so we were looking at each other.

"I rather not." I replied, taking my wrist back and walked away from him.

"Just for a while." He replied, holding my hands. "No." I shake my wrist off and ran away from him.

"Godamnit Emiko, I just want to talk to you, that's all, it's not like I'm a loanshark or something!" He snapped, pulling me back.

"I just don't want to talk to you!" I shouted at him. "Why, What did I ever do to you?!" He questioned.

"I don't w-want," I said, looking at the ground, "I just," I rubbed my temples, "I don't want you to," I finally got all my confidence but lost it, "You know what, let's just say I need a break from you just in case something happens to you."

"Then let's talk out of it." He asked concernly. "I-I," I looked at the ground, fiddling with my thumbs, "I don't really want to." I whispered.

"You know what, I don't really care now." He muttered under his breath while walking past me, roughly hitting my shoulder.

I stumbled a bit but regained my footings.

Kid's POV

What the fuck was wrong with her, did I even do anything to her?!

I take one last look at her and left. "So Kid, how did it go?" Killer asked me. "She didn't want to tell or talk to me." I replied.

"I'll try talking to her." Killer said, walking to where I was just now. "Good luck to you!" I shouted.

Killer's POV

I went behind Luffy's ship and searched for Emiko.

Not long, a petite figure caught my eyes. "Emiko!" I called for her. She turned around and looked at me.

"Yes, Killer?" She asked, giving me shivers when she called my name.

"I want to stay with you for a little while." I replied, going to her side.

"I suppose that I could allow that." Emiko said, walking next to me.

We reached Strawhat's ship deck which had grass on it and sat down on it.

"So, Emiko," I said, dragging the so. "Yes?" She asked. Should I ask her? "I hope you aren't sad or anything if I ask you this but, why are you ignoring Kid and Law?" I ask her.

She looked at me and let out sigh as she looked back at the ground. "I have my reasons." She replied.

"Want to talk about it?" I asked, looking at her. "I don't really know about that." She replied.

"Oh, sorry." I said, looking at her. "You don't really need to apologise." She replied, smiling at me.

After a short moment of awkward silence, Emiko finally spoke out, "I didn't really want to talk to the both of them because someone told me t-that," she stuttered, "Someone's in love with me.".

My heartbeat rate picked up it's speed, was she talking about me?

"How did you know that Law and Kid is in love with you, you can't judge it by how they treat you, right?" I asked her.

"I'm going to explain the whole thing so you'll understand better." Emiko sighed. "I got time to listen." I replied.

"I met my brother Ace, who was dead when I was sleeping just now, that's why I was dead for a while." She explained.

"Woah, that's some freaky experience for you." I replied.

"Well not really," she fiddled the grass with her fingers, "after talking to him, I woke up in my body in the real world, after I got out, I began to question one of his statement." She said.

"What was it?" I asked. "He told me that someone admired me and I was confused so I asked him, suddenly, I was in a black room, then he showed me a flashback of Kid, Luffy and Law, so I'm guessing that Kid and Law liked me." She replied.

"What about Luffy?" I asked. "Luffy's my brother, so I understand if he liked me, as a sister of course." She replied.

"Thanks for telling me." I told her. "Promise you won't tell this to anybody?" She said, holding up her pinkie finger. I chuckled at her childishness, "I promise I won't.". I intertwined my pinkie with hers. She grin at me,

A grin that never makes me fail to smile back at her.

"You can talk about it to Luffy but not to Law and Kid." She told me. "Like I said, I promise I won't tell." I replied to her.

We sat on the ground with awkward silence floating in the air again.

"Isn't the sunset beautiful?" Emiko asked, looking at the now pink sky. "Not as beautiful as you." I replied quietly. "Pardon?" She asked, going closer to me. "N-Nothing!" I replied too quickly.

"Well, I guess it's time for us to sleep," She said, walking away from me. "W-Wait!' I grabbed her wrist. Emiko turned behind and let out a hum. "I want you to stay here with me." I replied. Emiko giggled and plopped herself next to me.

I pulled Emiko to my chest and stroked her hair, making her fall asleep.

"Goodnight." I whispered to the sleeping Emiko.
